EXTERNAL SIZE - 2.4m (7'10") wide x 3.0m (9'10") deep (approx). |
WALLS 70mm x 35mm pressure treated framing (double 35mm x 35mm) with 16mm thick shiplap walls. Our profile has a unique 12mm overlap; compared to the 8mm industry standard (The overlap is how far the tongue sticks out). This is a more expensive way of doing things as it means you get less coverage from the same width of timber, but the reason why we do it is that it also makes it much less likely that the timbers will shrink to the extent where gaps would appear between the boards. This is the sort of attention to detail that we put into all our Garden Buildings. |

ALL TOUGHENED GLASS - ALL the glass used in this Greenhouse are single sheets of 4mm toughened glass, giving a stronger, more durable panel, so much harder to scratch or break compared to cheaper non toughened glass or Perspex. When we say ALL we actually mean ALL the panels, we’ve seen other web-sites making this claim and then pictures showing plastic joining strips to join two pieces of glass into one, or Perspex used in the triangular shapes because it’s cheaper than toughened glass, oh but you can’t do shaped toughened glass they’ll say, of course you can it just costs more, and it helps if you also run a large double glazing Company that can easily and cheaply acquire it – like us. Also worth noting that our toughened glass is 4mm thick compared to the 3mm thick toughened glass that other Companies use, another by product of being in the double glazing industry, we’re used to dealing with 4mm domestic style glass rather than 3mm horticultural glass, and of course thicker glass is better! |

WINDOW BEADS - We’re amazed to see how many other Companies provide a single piece of timber as both the frame and the bead, basically it’s a square section with slots cut into it which you slide the glass into. It’s great for their installers building the greenhouse as it makes life quicker and easier for them but it’s shows no forethought to what happens if a piece of glass breaks in the future. At which point you, the customer, will need to take the entire roof off your greenhouse and disassemble the top of the wall in order to slide in a replacement piece of glass. We haven’t set out to make life easier for our installers, we’ve considered the future possibility of you needing to replace a broken piece of glass, so all our glass is held in place with beads, strips of wood that are nailed into the frame. Once again this is generally more expensive, as it means supplying more complicated profile and two pieces of wood rather than one, but we own large timber mills which gives us economies of scale that means we can do this cheaper than their simple method. Also it’s just a sensible thing to do, so that’s why we do it. |

SLIDING DOORS- We only produce sliding doors as a sliding door won’t get caught by the wind, or knocked by a wheel barrow, and smash through the glass like a hinged door can. ALL our doors are also very wide at 1060mm (3’6”), more than ample to get a wheel barrow through. The doors are also durable, made with 70mm x 35mm section timbers and fitted with toughened glass. |
SLIDING DOORS WALK THROUGH HEIGHT 1785mm (5’10”) (from floor). |
SLIDING DOOR OVERALL FRAME HEIGHT 1820mm (6’) (from floor). |
SLIDING DOOR WALKTHROUGH WIDTH 1060mm (3’6”). |
SLIDING DOOR OVERALL FRAME WIDTH 1140mm (3’9”). |
RIDGE HEIGHT 2440mm (8') (approx) High |
INTERNAL EAVES- 1840mm (6'1") (approx) High, with floor 1765mm (5'10"). You’ll notice in our pictures that the top of our windows runs in line with the top of our doors, you don’t walk through a tall door only to then hit your head on the roof! The Eaves on our greenhouses are typically higher than others, meaning more room for your plants to grow and less concussion for you! |
