The Standard Solar Air Heater MkII payback can be in as little as 24 months, and is suitable for small commercial applications, village halls, school halls, large homes etc. It also reduces the risk of radon contamination for you and your family through the positive pressure ventilation that ensures the constant changing of air in your home. This product is designed to provide supplementary warmth. Please see our notes at the bottom of the Solar Air Heater homepage, concerning functionality and what you can expect.
The latest products to be supplied by Dunster House Ltd are Solar Air Dehumidifiers combined with a Solar Air Heater to suit a number of applications in private homes and commercial activities. We have, for over a year, tested these products and have found them to be very efficient in their operation: the MkII should pay for itself in under 2 years. After that, their contribution to your heating, ventilation and home dehumidification is free.
The units bring warmed fresh air into a property past a Solar Heat Collector through a duct directly into your designated room. This product can be used for garden offices, log cabins, or even your home, a second home, a mobile home or a chalet. You can also install them on the wall of a garage to help to keep it warm and dehumidify that area helping to reduce the incidence of rusting tools and other metals stored in your garage.
With fossil fuel prices escalating, world energy restrictions coming into force and currencies fluctuating we are "doing our bit" by progressively offering low cost but energy efficient Eco-products with short pay-back periods, all suitable for Competent DIY Customers .
UK SOLAR HOURS PER YEAR Between 1200 and 1500 depending on North/South locations. The MkII FreeSolar Air 2 as a Solar Air Collector can contribute approx 3200 kWh of free heat each year, at a radiation level of 700 W/m2 during Winter irradiance levels. The performance and heat levels rise during Summer months as irradiance levels in excess of 1300 W/m2 are experienced. Standard MkII Solar Heater and Solar Dehumidifier Specification - Solar Heat collector Panel: 1335mm x 1695mm x 120mm
- Vent Box: 350mm x 350mm x 120mm
- Solar Panel (for electricity supply to fan)
- Internal Control Switch and gravity vain Flaps in a small controlled panel
- 330 mm diameter air duct
(Please Note: W/m2=Watts per square metre) PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE UNITS DO NOT STORE HEAT OR PRODUCE WARM AIR DURING THE NIGHT TIME. THEY ARE A SUPPLEMENTARY HEATING SYSTEM THAT CAN, SUBJECT TO SOLAR RADIATION LEVELS, PRE-WARM AIR FOR ANY ENCLOSED SPACE AND THEREFORE REDUCE THE HEATING REQUIREMENTS FROM ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES. The MkII FreeSolar Air and Dehumidifier unit helps to reduce humidity, moisture and to alleviate health problems such as asthma, and thus helps people to breathe, bathe, cook and wash clothes.
The MkII Solar Air Heater and Dehumidifier is eco friendly as less fossil fuelled energy is used, your CO2 emissions and carbon footprint are consequently reduced. The unit is wall mounted to facilitate easy do-it-yourself installation, See Cabin Roof Mounted unit details below, - units mounted on the tiled roof of your domestic property can potentially cause accidents and damage your property.
We recommend that the Wall Mounted MkII Solar Air Heater and Dehumidifier is installed on a vertical plane to react to the lower travel of the Sun during the winter months. We also suggest that you position it facing due South (in the Northern Hemisphere), and consider the impact of shadows from trees and other structures. We also supply a
Cabin Roof Mounted Standard unit, which can perform depending on the elevation and question of reasonable Solar Radiation Levels during the various months of the year. Average Radiation Levels during the winter months in the Southern areas of the UK are in the region of 700W/m².
We identified the following results during tests on April 2nd 2011 between 12.00 hours and 13.00 hours. Test units facing South. Generally the day was bright but overcast with a little diluted sunshine. Other test results are on our webpages.
