It’s cost effective – our Budget Rapidpad™ system is excellent value for money when compared to concrete and many other alternatives.

The Heavy Duty Plastic Grids and weed control membrane that make up this system are light and easy to put into place, compared to concrete, sleepers, flagstones or other methods.

This Budget range requires more soil removal than our Premier and Deluxe ranges but still less than a concrete slab as the depth of the Budget RapidPad base at approx 1 ½” is less than a typical 4” to 6” concrete slab.

There are no wet trades with this product. Obviously concrete is wet when you pour it which means it’s messy and takes time to set, and once it’s set that’s it you can’t adjust it easily. With the RapidPad budget system should you need to adjust the levels whilst assembling it you can lift up the grids and add more soil/sharp sand (not supplied) underneath in order to get the levels right.

What’s Included?
This system includes sufficient Heavy Duty Plastic Grids to fit under the base of your Garden building plus 100mm overhang on all sides of the bearers to help spread the weight of the building. Other Companies do offer grid systems similar to this, but the grids we use are of the same
high quality that we use in our Premier and Deluxe ranges and so need to withstand strong loads in small areas and as such are a lot stronger than most grids available. Our grids have 2mm thick walls and strong support structures at the bottom of the grids to help spread the weight of the building; they also click together for ease of placement and to help rigidity.

Also included is the Weed Control Membrane, We’ve included enough weed control membrane to cover the bottom of all your grids as we can buy it in bulk and ship it cost effectively with the grids to form this system and pass on the savings of this to you.
Please Note:We
don’t include any sharp sand; you may find this helpful for getting the grids level; and we
don’t include the pea shingles that you will need to fill the grids. This is because we would not be able to supply these items in bulk for the same low prices you can get them from a more local source such as a builders merchant.
What sites is this suitable for?
The Budget Rapidpad™ Foundations are designed to work in Medium firmness ground conditions. In the case of our foundations simply digging down 30-40mm and then tamping the ground in medium firm ground conditions is perfectly sufficient to hold the building stable.
The Budget Rapidpad™ Foundation System will be suitable for most, but not every garden. It is not suitable for areas prone to water logged ground conditions or marsh, peat or recently disturbed ground. If you feel unsure if your ground is suitable for foundations exerting approx. 14Kpa of pressure, please employ a local site surveyor prior to purchasing.
This system is only suitable for ground which is pretty much level, if you need to add too much earth to make your ground level and/or if you don’t adequately compact any added earth you risk subsidence in those areas as the earth consolidates/settles over time.
Not suitable for exposed sites with high wind speeds. This is a product for a typical garden where shelter from the wind is provided by fences, walls, trees and houses for example. Our buildings themselves are also unsuitable for high wind loads in exposed areas in any case.
