Read about one of Dunster Houses installations of a 3m x 3m Avon Plus!

If you wonder how the installation of our cabins works, here is an example of one being installed by our very own team of professionals:

Our team starts the installation by screwing floor bearers together, creating a wooden base which sits on top of a concrete level. However, if you don’t have or don’t want a concrete base, you can purchase our fantastic RapidPads to sit the cabin on instead. This is a quick and easy foundation system.

The walls are then built up by slotting them together.

The logs are already cut to leave gaps for the windows and doors. Nice and easy boys!

They then cut the insulation and put it between the bearers. The floor boards are nailed to the bearers. Polyurethane insulations keep the cabin warm in winter and cool in the summer.

After that, as this is a TripleThermTM cabin, foil backed Polyurethane wall insulation is placed and sandwiched in by an inner wall being built.

You can now see one of our team fitting doors to the cabin...

...and then the window is slotted into place.

Once the window and doors have been added, they can now slot the roof beams.

It is now time to nail the roof boards on to the beams.

No, he is not admiring the perfect view from the top, but just adding roof insulation! (Also made of foil backed Polyurethane).

The roof membrane is now put over the top of the insulation. This is to stop any leaks into your cabin.

To finish the roof off, optional roof shingles are nailed on. Ok now stop playing on that roof you might hurt yourself!

Oh good the roof is finally finished! The cabin can then be treated to give it extra protection against fungal decay and insect infestation. Not only does it protect the cabin, but it also personalizes it. All the colours available at Dunster House are: antique pine, light oak, mid oak, pine, spruce, white, blue and cream; but also a combination of cream (for the windows and doors) with any of the colours for the rest of the cabin. (Treatment is available as supply only)

They then added guttering, with two water butts (optional extras, available at extra cost).

And finally after all those great efforts, our amazing team is done. The final outcome of this is a fantastic new log cabin! It is great for office use. Our team can now leave for a new adventure!

Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Opreshko for the kind use of their pictures.
