The Dunster House® roof mounted Solar Air Heater has been designed 'in-house' to provide supplementary warmth to Log Cabins. This unit is run entirely without a mains power supply (as it is powered by Solar Radiation).

The Solar Air Heater works by taking in fresh air from outside (not stale recycled air like some heaters do) and uses the Solar Radiation to heat this air, which then enters the Log Cabin through the roof mounted fan (see above diagram). You can also get free installation of this unit when you purchase installation with one of our Log Cabins (at the same time as this product).

After it is Installed the unit starts automatically, and due to no power supply it does this at no extra cost. This means that this product becomes a one-off payment for you, and in time you will be able to make your money back from this purchase. All you need to do is flick the switch on your Internal Control Box and the Adjustable Roof Input Vent will start to let the warm air flow in (because the vent is adjustable, you can close it to prevent any heat loss on non-solar radiating days).

This product should ideally be fitted on a south face elevation free from obstructions such as overhanging trees.

There is little maintenance involved, which allows you to have heating with minimum effort. We have also tested our Heater in one of our Log Cabins and the results have been very promising (temperatures have reached as high as 100°c in summer). Due to its ability to reach high temperatures, we recommend that you operate the Heater in the months during Spring, Autumn and Winter for optimum results.
