  • Safety as standard
Our entire range is independently tested to comply with European Safety Standard EN71 and are CE rated. It really is better to be safe than sorry!
    10 year timber guarantee
With the exception of some accessories (eg. Ring Trapeze), ALL of the timber in your Climbing Frame has been pressure treated to ensure it lasts. Please be aware most of our competitors dip treat or do not specify the type of treatment they use. If the product is dip treated and not pressure treated they will require you to dismantle the climbing frame and treat all of the parts each and every year which cause you the customer, a lot of hassle and unnecessary time wasted taking it apart and putting it back together again. We offer a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation with no need for you to re-treat the climbing frame, at any point during that 10 years. We’ve also tested our treated timber to EN71-3 to ensure that the chemicals are safe to use on children’s products – which seems obvious but other companies use solvents to treat similar products.
    Metal Ground Anchors
Unlike the pegs that some other companies use to secure their play systems, we believe in burying large diameter galvanised metal discs into the ground to provide a solid stable structure. This way, unless your ground is particularly soft, there's no need to concrete the posts into the ground.
  • 10mm Rope on Swings
We don't use metal chain links which can rust and risk trapping little fingers and hair. Our accessories use 10mm thick rope, pre-assembled with welded plastic joints and are height adjustable.
    Comfortable Swings
Our seats are made from moulded thick plastic that doesn't sacrifice comfort or durability.
    High Quality Accessories - Optional
We don't offer cheap flimsy accessories, unlike some competitors. Our climbing frame accessories are all designed for strength and manufactured to a high quality standard.
    Professional Quality Climbing Stones
Moulded plastic climbing stones can crack - that's why we don't use them! We only use professional grade materials, as seen on proper climbing walls!
  • Rounded Safety Caps
Nuts and bolts are safely covered up with plastic caps for added protection against knocks, bumps and to prevent catching clothing.
    Extra Thick Slides
Our plastic slides are thicker and more durable than any other residential plastic slides on the market. You don't even need to build them! Ours are one single piece of plastic rather than a kit of separate parts.
    Clamp Style Swing Hooks
Our hooks are specially designed to wrap around the timber to help reinforce it. The other type of swing hook that some competitors use is a simple bolt which is drilled through the middle of the timber and can weaken the timber over time as the swing moves back and forth. Our clamp style swing hooks add strength and safety.
  • Strong braces
To ensure a really solid structure we use multiple braces for added strength. We also prefer to use bolts, rather than screws, at key stress points and even pre-drill these holes to help you get the positioning exactly right and save you time.
  • Free fixing pack
We include all of the screws, nails and fixings needed to put your Climbing Frame together, not everyone is that thoughtful! So there's no need to worry about the type of screws, or length of nails etc you might need to get started, it's all there in the pack!

Great buy for my grandchildren. We built in around 8 hours with 2 of us.
By - Paula Goulette on Jul 19,16

The company - excellent service and delivery The product - fantastic swing and slide set, my 3.5yr old son has been on it every dry day since it was installed, worth the investment, he loves it! It looks the same as the picture, and is made of good quality materials - the wood needed a little fine sanding to ensure no splinters from the climbing parts. Assembly - not easy to assemble, definitely a 2-3 person job for the best part of a day! The ground posts were very long, and we seemed to hit hard 'rubble' under the lawn so could not get them fully in, ended up sawing the disc part off and grounding as stakes to secure, however even without them the product is very sturdy (it's only if adults were to start swinging high that there was a little movement in one corner - none at all with the ground 'pegs/ stakes' in! Would have liked it, if Dunster offered a reasonably priced install/ assembly service! Overall - delighted with this purchase, looks like it will last until the children outgrow it and it has already provided hours of fun!!
By - Priya Johal on Jun 10,16 Dunster House reply:
Hi Priya. Thank you for your review and awesome photo. We are very glad that you have enjoyed our service as well as the product. As you know all of our climbing frames have been tested to meet rigorous European standards and they should only be used by children and not adults. Also they are easy to build with the appropriate tools and skills and that is the main reason that we don't offer an installation service that would be too costly for the customer if compared to the price of the product itself.

We spent a long time researching different suppliers and prices, finally decided to pay a little more to hopefully get a good product. We were not disappointed, good price, easy to order, fast delivery within 2 days and the quality is great. Very easy to assemble with good instructions, took 2 of us around 5 hours. Very impressed thanks to Dunster House.

Great climbing frame which my husband put together with little help in a few hours. Girls aged 6 & 8 love it. The treated wood looks good and I'm sure it will look just as good in a few years. Delivery hassle free. Cannot recommend Dunster House highly enough. You will not be disappointed.

I would like to leave you a possitive review: We bought the mini fort discovery system for our 5 year old. All bits were delivered propmptly and on time. We had one minor problem, which when contacted dunster house sorted out very quickly, without any arguments. Would recomend and glad that I ignored some of the less favourable reviews. My overall experience was very good.

excellent product. My wife and I are no DIY'ers but we putnit together in a weekend.
By - Berto Janssen on Aug 04,14 Dunster House reply:
Excellent news, Berto. Nothing like the feeling of building it yourself for satisfaction.

Excellent value for money, however it does a long time to assemble, even with three people. Very please with end product. Really fast delivery.
By - Paul Edwards on Jul 31,14 Dunster House reply:
Thanks Paul, glad you like it. Installation times do vary based on many things - previous experience, how many tea breaks, etc! Most of our cabins can be built in under 2 days by our teams and many can even be built within a day, but then painting it properly after that can take time, as it is really worth taking the time to get a good finish on the paint.

Very happy with the mini fort discovery, we brought our cabin From dunster house 4yrs ago and the service was as good then. The fort took me 4 hours to assemble on my own, and there were no surprises, We have three children under 5 and they love it as you can Imagine.. The only addition I've made is to add cladding to the Sides of the fort to prevent falling off the platform and some D bar handles at the slide opening and the ladder entry... Thanks to Dunster House.. Rob K
By - Rob Kidner on Apr 15,14 Dunster House reply:
Good Morning Rob, We are really pleased you decided to return to Dunster House for your Mini Fort Discovery. Thank you for taking the time to review, we would love to see pictures of your fort and cabin together for our online gallery, if you would like to send pictures you can send them to

The quality of this fort is first rate; solid, chunky and well finished. It should be made clear though that a good degree of DIY skills is necessary to erect it! You need good quality tools and around a day and a half. A power driver is essential. Despite the diagrams, we made two or three mistakes because it wasn't written in detail how certain parts were assembled. That meant completely taking apart some large assemblies! We also shattered two of the plastic housings for the screws before we realised how to use them properly. We are no novices to using equipment and constructing as we've built three houses! Once finished though it is BRILLIANT!
By - Vanessa Draper on Apr 10,14 Dunster House reply:
Hi Vanessa, really glad you like your new climbing frame so much. We will pop some replacement cover caps in the post for you now.

We bought the mini fort discovery climbing frame for our three children (7,4 and 10 weeks!) and as soon as it was up, they have spent all their free time on it! It's got everything they could want on it to fuel their imaginations. The design of the frame and the quality of each part is great. It took my partner 1/2 hour each evening after work over the course of 4 days to construct at a leisurely pace. The instructions were easy to follow. We did a lot of research into various makes and styles of climbing frames and this by far has been the best choice.
By - Sarah Watson on Apr 02,13

The delivery was on time and handled well. The set up was easy to follow and my husband set it up on his own in 4hours. The swings and slide are substantial. My only suggestion would be to have the treads on the steps Pre drilled as there was some splitting of the wood when he screwed them to the frame. Otherwise wonderful for the kids and very sturdy.
By - Tracy Laffar on Aug 21,12 Dunster House reply:
Hi Tracy, thank you for your lovely review we're glad you are happy with your sturdy climbing frame. Regarding pre-drilling, we don't pre-drill the smaller screw holes as these would close up during pressure treatment, which we do after all cutting/drilling processes to ensure longevity of the product. We do, however, pre-drill the larger bolt holes as these do not close up to the same degree due to their size. As such in the instructions we do ask customers to pre-drill for any screws to help prevent the timber from splitting when fixing them together, apologies if this was in any way unclear. We hope your kids continue to enjoy your MiniFort Discovery for many years to come.

This was a brilliant purchase for our 3 yr and 5 yr old girls - they absolutely love it, as do their friends! It was surprisingly good quality for the price, and with the help of a friend, was up in a day! I would definitely recommend it. When I ordered it, I was toying with the idea of the bigger one, but actually this is perfect!
By - Justine Ray on Aug 11,12

Excellent easy to assemble, the one minor problem was dealt with quickly and to my complete satisfaction. Great value. Grandchildren love it.
By - Ron Eagle on Aug 02,12

A really great find, our almost 3 year old and 5 year old love it. We no longer need to go to the park! Delivery reliable and took my husband 2 days to put it up by himself (helped by our 5 year old:).
By - Fran Lee on Jul 31,12

Great product, very sturdy and very good value for money. The kids love it.
By - Sandra Richens on Apr 25,12

Good solid climbing frame. Children (5 and 7) love it. 4 stars because it was quite hard work to put together.
By - T Ireland on Nov 27,11
