Man Caves 4 point locking system
    4 Point Door locking system
Our PremiumPlus doors feature our industry leading four point locking system. It features a hook, locking latch and two roller locks. We use a type of lock that has 6 pins and has been tested to BSEN 1303:2005 classification to ensure it is a safer, more secure locking system. Our Premiumplus windows have multipoint locking as well, using the same type of system as we supply with our uPVC windows and doors.
    timber outbuilding toughened glass
    wooden outbuilding styrene
    4mm toughened glass
We use 4mm toughened glass in our windows and doors for increased safety and security. It's much better than 3mm horticultural glass, commonly found in garden buildings, as it's a lot harder to break, and if ever it is broken it breaks into small pieces rather than large shards. It is also much harder to scratch than the plastic alternatives, styrene, acrylic and perspex, so will preserve your clear view out for far longer.
    timber outbuilding 24mm double glazing
    Optional 24mm Double Glazing
The double glazing option on PremiumPlus Log Cabins is an industry leading 24mm thick. We make these sealed units ourselves to European Standard EN1279. Made up of 4mm toughened glass, 16mm spacer and another piece of 4mm toughened glass. It's an excellent way of insulating your cabin and extending its usage from a seasonal building to one that can be used throughout the year.

    10 year timber guarantee?
Other companies claim that they offer a 10 year Guarantee on their untreated timber. If you read the small print, you'll find that these Guarantees are pointless. They cover the cabin against rot and insect infestation only if you, the customer, treat the cabin every year with a good quality preservative. Why are these Companies offering a Guarantee for something that you are going to have to do yourself? How could you prove you had treated it if you tried to make a claim? We don't offer pointless Guarantees. We guarantee that our pressure treated timber and our galvanised metal will last for 10 years without yearly labour from you.
    Log cabin quality windows
    Log cabins quality windows
    Quality windows and doors
Our best windows and doors are reserved for our top of the range Premiumplus cabins. With gasket seals for weather proofing, laminated timber in the longer sections for increased resistance to warping, larger sections of timber and better joints. Along with our best hinges, locking systems and largest opening sizes, we've developed these using our decades of experience in the window and door industry and they are unmatched by our competitors.
    Outdoor building bi-fold door
    Garden retreat door bracket
    bi-fold doors
The attractive bi folding doors open fully to allow plenty of light inside. In order to help secure these large doors, there are large metal brackets in the corners to reinforce the frames, 4 hinges on each side and two positioning slots at the top of the door.
    wooden garden building adjustable hinges
    timber garden building friction hinges
    Adjustable Hinges/Friction Stays
Our PremiumPlus doors feature easily adjustable hinges allowing you to make minor changes if ever required. The windows on this range have the same friction stays as we supply on our uPVC windows, meaning that you can open the window and leave it open with just the hinges taking the load, with no need for a stay arm. These sets of hinges are stylish and supremely user friendly.
Man caves with adjustable storm brace
Man cave with adjustable storm brace
    Adjustable storm braces
Our adjustable storm braces tie the log cabin roof to the rest of the building so it withstands stronger winds. Unlike other cabins on the market they are adjustable to allow for the natural movement of the cabin which helps prevent gaps appearing between wall logs as the logs settle and move.
    Wooden log cabin spruce walls
Wooden log cabins with spruce walls
    Slow Grown Spruce
We use slow grown spruce for the walls of all our log cabins as it is better all round than pine! Spruce is less porous than Pine and so less likely to shrink, warp or split. We only select slowly grown timber from colder climates which also helps keep the timber more stable as the rings are densely packed. It is also a less resinous timber than Pine, which makes the possibility of sap ruining your clothes or furnishings much less likely.
With our extra tall doors, unless you are over 1.86m (6'1") tall you can walk right the way through without any danger of bumping your head.
This building is under 2.5m high. Why does this matter? Under permitted development rights, buildings under 2.5m high can be placed as close as you want to a boundary (eg. a fence line) without planning permission. Buildings that are over 2.5m high need to be placed over 2m away from any boundary (eg. a fence line), which could lead to a lot of wasted space. If you want to find out more about permitted development rights see our planning guide
By pressure treating our floor bearers we protect the lowest part of the building from rot and insect infestation. This forces the treatment deep into the timber using a large pressure treatment tank. Due to this costly but effective process we can offer our customers a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation on the bearers with no need for the customer to re-treat this timber at any point during that time.

Average Seller Rating:

Dunster House state the Log Cabin has a 4 point locking system, wide opening doors, multi point locking doors all of which can't be used because the doors can't be closed even after 4 visits from " technicians"and 2 adjustments by ourselves, following their instructions to the letter unless you pay them £250.The after sales service is non existent and you are unable to phone Customer Services Keep away.

Good quality product at an affordable price. Generous extra spare wooden parts and fits together very cleverly. One or two problems that were dealt with on line with the help of photos. As stated elsewhere, the instructions are generic and much of which is unnecessary. Very poor at times which required a bit of head scratching and guesswork! In the end, very pleased and understated as a mere shed!
By - Martin Fowler on Sep 20,16 Dunster House reply:
Hi Martin. Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you are happy with your cabin. We also have a lot of videos on YouTube and on our product pages on our website that show some construction details and tips.

Brilliant log cabin - we use it all the time since we bought it. A great project and satisfying result. I would recommend Dunster House to anyone

Love the roof overhang, don't get wet when closing the shed! Great space and well finished. Installation went smoothly and all done in a day.
By - Paul Beere on Aug 03,16

The cabin was delivered on what turned out to be the wettest August day on record, and yet the two delivery guys were excellent, friendly and professional. The cabin construction was well documented and when I did come across sections which I was not clear on, a quick call to the team solve the issue promptly. The only small issue I had, hence the 4 star rating, was that I found the quality of the brass locks on the bi-fold doors to be poor, and they broke after a few days. I replaced them with better quality after market locks, which work well. Overall though I am very happy with the cabin, it looks gorgeous in the cream.

We purchased our cabin from Dunster House after plenty of online research and visits to various showrooms. We found their website to be the easiest to use and their staff (Flixborough) very helpful in advising us on what specification we needed for our gym. We built the cabin ourselves (on a concrete base) and overall the build was good but I must say that the instructions could do with being more specific in parts. We tended to refer to the YouTube videos which were very helpful and I'd suggest that they do more. The price paid was great and the quality of the cabin is better than expected. Delivery was quick and the delivery team unloaded in the order that we'd need the timber (base first etc) which was very helpful. We built it ourselves and the main structure is easy enough. We built the roof in the winter so used mastic and a heat gun to set the roof shingles and that seems to have worked. Would suggest that you look at the paint colour via a showroom visit as the actual colour v the online picture do differ. Overall, I love our new cabin and it's great value for the price paid. We were able to build ourselves and its standing proud. Would certainly recommend this company.

We were very pleased with our new cabin and it certainly has coped with all the horrendous rain and winds we have suffered this summer. Ordering was easy and the delivery very good on the date and time expected (slightly earlier in fact) The only disappointing thing was that we felt that the bolts provided for the folding doors were inadequate , even though a second set was sent immediately, and we hope to rectify this soon by buying stronger bolts to fit
By - William Grady on Aug 23,15

Very pleased with our log cabin, arrived within a week so base was not ready on time. Read instructions many times and video on line then got stuck in, main structure complete in 6 hours then floor and bi-fold doors etc over 2 days. Used classic cream preserver 2 coats looks great. I would recommend Dunster house and would use them again.

A big thank you to the installation team Ian and Aaron, who did an excellent job together and were nothing but very helpful and efficient, which was all much appreciated. The summerhouse is all we expected after our previous research, well designed and put together, and is now in process of being painted. The only quibble would be on the weak design of the top and bottom door bolts, which need to be stronger, one of which has fallen to bits already with no effort. Perhaps a simple design mod that Dunster House would like to consider. We will be swapping them to standard brass round bolts that are a lot stronger and probably cheaper! Other than that, the summerhouse is a very sound and solid construction. We would recommend them.

The delivery men were very helpful and viewing the component parts as they were unloaded, the quality showed

Thank you for your review David. We are pleased you were so happy with our delivery service.

Had been looking for a summerhouse for ages, finally making the decision to buy the Auval Bi-Fold from Dunster House. We are really pleased with our purchase - the cabin is a well made, quality product and a lovely addition to our garden. A basic knowledge of D-I-Y is required for construction - we found some of the diagrams a bit confusing as they relate to several different buildings. Also be aware that you need an able- bodied person on site to help unload when building is delivered! Sure the cabin will be much enjoyed by all the family.

Was assembled by the assembly team in three days, the guys worked hard and continuously to make an outstanding job of it. The log cabin itself was carefully selected and compared to similar products from many different companies. The design and finish is far superior to other products and the double glazed, fully insulated log cabin is proving to be very successful on some of the cold days we have had already. We have installed some wall lights with a wireless switch and sockets together with a panel heater to create a very good summerhouse all year round. All wiring is carried out in plastic trunking concealed on the rear of the cabin. All in all we are so pleased with our cabin.

We bought the Auval to use for a beauty studio in our back garden. We are really pleased with it. It is a perfect size and looks lovely in the garden. Delivery was great and customer service excellent. My husband and a friend built it in a day and a half I think it would need someone who is very good at DIY though. We have painted it in Dulux weather shield Celtic forest.
