  • Avoid planning permission
This building is under 2.5m high.
Why does this matter? Well, under permitted development rights buildings under 2.5m high can be placed as close as you want to a boundary (eg. a fence line) without planning permission. Buildings that are over 2.5m high, however, need to be placed over 2m away from any boundary (eg. a fence line), which means that with taller buildings you end up with a lot of space behind them. If you want to find out more about permitted development rights see our planning guide
  • Adjustable storm braces
Our adjustable storm braces tie the log cabin roof to the rest of the building so it withstands stronger winds. Unlike other cabins on the market they are adjustable to allow for the natural movement of the cabin which helps prevent gaps appearing between wall logs as the logs settle and move.
  • Slow Grown Spruce
We use slow grown spruce for the walls of all our log cabins as it is better all round than pine! Spruce is less porous than Pine and so less likely to shrink, warp or split. We only select slowly grown timber from colder climates which also helps keep the timber more stable as the rings are densely packed. It is also a less resinous timber than Pine, which makes the possibility of sap ruining your clothes or furnishings much less likely.
  • 4mm toughened glass
We use 4mm toughened glass in our windows and doors for increased safety and security. It's much better than 3mm horticultural glass, commonly found in garden buildings, as it's a lot harder to break, and if ever it is broken it breaks into small pieces rather than large shards. It is also much harder to scratch than the plastic alternatives, styrene, acrylic and perspex, so will preserve your clear view out for far longer.
    Pressure treated bearers
By pressure treating our floor bearers we protect the lowest part of the building from rot and insect infestation. This forces the treatment deep into the timber using a large pressure treatment tank. Due to this costly but effective process we can offer our customers a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation on the bearers with no need for the customer to re-treat this timber at any point during that time.
    10 year timber guarantee?
Other companies claim that they offer a 10 year Guarantee on their untreated timber. If you read the small print, you'll find that these Guarantees are pointless. They cover the cabin against rot and insect infestation only if you, the customer, treat the cabin every year with a good quality preservative. Why are these Companies offering a Guarantee for something that you are going to have to do yourself? How could you prove you had treated it if you tried to make a claim? We don't offer pointless Guarantees. We guarantee that our pressure treated timber and our galvanised metal will last for 10 years without yearly labour from you.
  • Customise your design
Our Log Cabins have been designed to fit any garden and accommodate any personal preferences. Where our pictures show the doors on either the left or the right hand side of the front elevation if you want the doors on the other side of the front elevation simply reverse the position of the front wall logs when you build it. You can choose between a traditional or modern style, depending on the type of roof you prefer, and with or without Georgian Bars, to suit your taste.
  • Tall walkthrough height
With our extra tall doors, unless you are over 1.86m (6'1") tall you can walk right the way through without any danger of bumping your head.
  • Avoid sagging roofs
Our heavy duty 140mm or 210mm high by 45mm wide supporting roof beams prevent unsightly sagging.
    4 Point Door locking system
Our PremiumPlus doors feature our industry leading four point locking system. It features a hook, locking latch and two roller locks. We use a type of lock that has 6 pins and has been tested to BSEN 1303:2005 classification to ensure it is a safer, more secure locking system. Our Premiumplus windows have multipoint locking as well, using the same type of system as we supply with our uPVC windows and doors.
  • Optional 24mm Double Glazing
The double glazing option on PremiumPlus Log Cabins is an industry leading 24mm thick. We make these sealed units ourselves to European Standard EN1279. Made up of 4mm toughened glass, 16mm spacer and another piece of 4mm toughened glass. It's an excellent way of insulating your cabin and extending its usage from a seasonal building to one that can be used throughout the year.
  • Adjustable Hinges/Friction Stays
Our PremiumPlus doors feature easily adjustable hinges allowing you to make minor changes if ever required. The windows on this range have the same friction stays as we supply on our uPVC windows, meaning that you can open the window and leave it open with just the hinges taking the load, with no need for a stay arm. These sets of hinges are stylish and supremely user friendly.

PremiumPlus Beelonga Sunlight Log Cabin W5.0m x D3.0m

The image above shows a brief reference to how your products will arrive. All of our garden buildings are made from kiln dried quality graded timber, if it is to be stored prior to construction and treatment all parts must be covered to prevent moisture from warping and rotting the timber.

Average Seller Rating:

Very pleased with our Beelonga and especially the quality of the wood and fittings. A couple of logs were slightly warped and caused problems but otherwise it went together beautifully.
By - Ralph Pitman on Aug 30,16 Dunster House reply:
Dear Ralph. Thank you for leaving a review. Timber is a natural product and each piece has its own unique properties. So whilst we choose the most suitable species of wood and keep our quality control measures high to ensure its consistent quality, timber will still have cracks and warps.

I was under the impression that I was getting a complete job very disappointed after asking the question that after reading the small print I have to paint he summerhouse myself. I have still been unable to protect the wood due to constant rain fall but hopefully this week end I will be able to complete the job. Also I do not like the colour I chose but it's not worth my while driving back to Warminster. I am very pleased with the quality of the summerhouse.

Dear Kerry. Thank you for your review. We now also have Pressure Treated Log Cabins that do not need to be treated and come with a 10 years guarantee.

A very good product which we have pimped up to semi replicate the £10k smaller less substantial uninsulated writers hut from the national trust / cranes, ie we added a corrugated steel roof and posh finials (total cost £5k) to Dunsters kit. The one driver delivery is not advisable unless you are prepared to help unload, I was asked and did reluctantly, which after just coming out of hospital really was stupid. I would recommend this hut to anyone ....just as we were by our next door neighbour.

Dear Mike, thank you for your review, it sounds like you've use the building as a great starting point for your own project. We do ask customers to assist with offloading but on some products delviered to some areas we do offer a 2 person delivery service where, for a small fee, we will ensure there are two people sent on the delivery. If you need to order another building in the future, just choose this option.

Hi, Cabin arrived earlier than expected so ground work wasn't completed in time (meant the wood had to sit on raised plinths in the weather mostly untreated for about 10 days). Instructions weren't very clear and not well organised, thankfully your Youtube uploaded instruction videos helped with the extra details. Cabin now erected and water-tight. Have fitted guttering from Wickes as I didn't realise the water would drip as much and as close to the front wall (my mistake). The extra logs were a god-send, one of the roof planks was completed split down the middle & a side wall log was in bad condition with a lot of surface splinters (could have sanded down a lot but used a good spare). In all, impressed with the quality of the cabin and the speed of arrival. Will be adding electrical points & insulation from Wickes over the coming month and photos will be forthcoming. One major criticism is how cheap you are now offering roof felt tiles! I would have waited if I'd known!!!! :(

Hi Richard, thank you for your review. We are pleased you liked the product so much. Timber is a natural product and there is varition in all timber parts, hence the spares we provide.
