  • Avoid planning permission
This building is under 2.5m high.
Why does this matter? Well, under permitted development rights buildings under 2.5m high can be placed as close as you want to a boundary (eg. a fence line) without planning permission. Buildings that are over 2.5m high, however, need to be placed over 2m away from any boundary (eg. a fence line), which means that with taller buildings you end up with a lot of space behind them. If you want to find out more about permitted development rights see our planning guide
  • Adjustable storm braces
Our adjustable storm braces tie the log cabin roof to the rest of the building so it withstands stronger winds. Unlike other cabins on the market they are adjustable to allow for the natural movement of the cabin which helps prevent gaps appearing between wall logs as the logs settle and move.
  • Slow Grown Spruce
We use slow grown spruce for the walls of all our log cabins as it is better all round than pine! Spruce is less porous than Pine and so less likely to shrink, warp or split. We only select slowly grown timber from colder climates which also helps keep the timber more stable as the rings are densely packed. It is also a less resinous timber than Pine, which makes the possibility of sap ruining your clothes or furnishings much less likely.
  • 4mm toughened glass
We use 4mm toughened glass in our windows and doors for increased safety and security. It's much better than 3mm horticultural glass, commonly found in garden buildings, as it's a lot harder to break, and if ever it is broken it breaks into small pieces rather than large shards. It is also much harder to scratch than the plastic alternatives, styrene, acrylic and perspex, so will preserve your clear view out for far longer.

    Pressure treated bearers

By pressure treating our floor bearers we protect the lowest part of the building from rot and insect infestation. This forces the treatment deep into the timber using a large pressure treatment tank. Due to this costly but effective process we can offer our customers a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation on the bearers with no need for the customer to re-treat this timber at any point during that time.

    10 year timber guarantee?

Other companies claim that they offer a 10 year Guarantee on their untreated timber. If you read the small print, you'll find that these Guarantees are pointless. They cover the cabin against rot and insect infestation only if you, the customer, treat the cabin every year with a good quality preservative. Why are these Companies offering a Guarantee for something that you are going to have to do yourself? How could you prove you had treated it if you tried to make a claim? We don't offer pointless Guarantees. We guarantee that our pressure treated timber and our galvanised metal will last for 10 years without yearly labour from you.
  • Tall walkthrough height
With our extra tall doors, unless you are over 1.86m (6'1") tall you can walk right the way through without any danger of bumping your head.
  • Avoid sagging roofs
Our heavy duty 140mm or 210mm high by 45mm wide supporting roof beams prevent unsightly sagging.
  •

    4 Point Door locking system

Our PremiumPlus doors feature our industry leading four point locking system. It features a hook, locking latch and two roller locks. We use a type of lock that has 6 pins and has been tested to BSEN 1303:2005 classification to ensure it is a safer, more secure locking system. Our Premiumplus windows have multipoint locking as well, using the same type of system as we supply with our uPVC windows and doors.
  • Optional 24mm Double Glazing
The double glazing option on PremiumPlus Log Cabins is an industry leading 24mm thick. We make these sealed units ourselves to European Standard EN1279. Made up of 4mm toughened glass, 16mm spacer and another piece of 4mm toughened glass. It's an excellent way of insulating your cabin and extending its usage from a seasonal building to one that can be used throughout the year.
  • Adjustable Hinges/Friction Stays
Our PremiumPlus doors feature easily adjustable hinges allowing you to make minor changes if ever required. The windows on this range have the same friction stays as we supply on our uPVC windows, meaning that you can open the window and leave it open with just the hinges taking the load, with no need for a stay arm. These sets of hinges are stylish and supremely user friendly.

    Changeable Roof Style

We like to make our Garden Buildings as customisable as possible to ensure that we cater for everyone’s size, space, shape and style preferences. Delivered alongside your Log Cabin, we provide all the timber and fixings to allow you to customise your Cabin by adding an overhang.
The addition of an overhang will provide your Garden Building with natural shade and offers further protection from the varying weather that a British summer often throws at us. The overhang is 1m – large enough to provide you with shelter but small enough to avoid becoming intrusive.

PremiumPlus Radley Log Cabin W4.0m x D3.0m

The image above shows a brief reference to how your products will arrive. All of our garden buildings are made from kiln dried quality graded timber, if it is to be stored prior to construction and treatment all parts must be covered to prevent moisture from warping and rotting the timber.

Average Seller Rating:

Very happy with our purchase and feel that we bought our cabin from the right supplier. Very easy during the ordering phase to which I made a few changes a couple of days later. Dunster House responded swiftly and rectified my order as requested with minimum fuss. On the delivery day I was kept up to date with the arrival time of the driver and that was further enforced as the delivery truck is fitted with a GPS tracker which you can log onto at any time to track its whereabouts. Delivery driver was most helpful and required very little help as the vehicle was fitted with its own forklift truck which made the unloading very easy and effortless. The packaging was excellent and all items very well secured and protected from the elements. On opening the packages I familiarised myself with the instructions prior to the assembly. If totally honest I think the building instructions could be better laid out and easier to follow. I think if you're not of the tinkering sort you may find it very daunting. Now the product itself. Very pleased overall with the wood quality although we did have a few of the 45mm logs with twists in them and became a slight issue at the end of the build but by using a few clamps we were soon able to take the twists out and secure. We found it very helpful that the window and door frames came pre assembled. As our pictures show we opted to purchase heavy duty floor joists from the local builders merchants due to the concrete piling method I utilised for the sub base. Also purchased wider roof facias as I thought the ones supplied were too shallow for fitting good guttering at a later date. The roof felting was carried out by a friend as he is a roofer so kind of cheated at that stage so can't really comment. I would like to finish off by saying what a great product and that we are looking forward to the internal furnishing part. Mini bar and some nice seating including ambiance lighting.
