This job is based out of our Bedford Headquarters – MK41 0LF
This role will involve taking very basic concepts from whiteboards and post-it notes and developing them into fully manufacturable products with production and assembly instructions, bill of materials, costings etc. The role will be primarily developing products in existing lines (e.g. garden buildings). The successful candidate will be fully workshop trained and will be expected to produce, assemble, scrutinise, optimise and refine product prototypes.
Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant design or technical field
1 year professional or educational CAD experience, (Inventor preferred, but Solidworks, Pro-Engineer, Creo, NX, or other comparable 3D parametric software considered, not sketchup)
2D drafting experience, creation of technical drawings, dimensioning, tolerancing
Product data management experience, e.g. Vault or similar, working with part data, material requirements, BOMs etc
Experience of building and making things, can be professional or otherwise, timber and sheet material preferred
GCSE or equivalent Maths, D&T grade A or above, science (double or triple) grade C+ or above
BSc or equivalent qualification in a relevant design or technical field
3 years professional or educational CAD experience with Inventor
Extensive 2D drafting experience
A-level or equivalent Maths, D&T grade C or above
