*Insulation means a reduction in loss of heat from an area that has been heated to a different temperature. If no heat has been applied, the insulation will be nominally the same as the outside temperature.

    AVOID PLANNING PERMISSION

This building is under 2.5m high.
Why does this matter? Well, under permitted development rights buildings under 2.5m high can be placed as close as you want to a boundary (eg. a fence line) without planning permission. Buildings that are over 2.5m high, however, need to be placed over 2m away from any boundary (eg. a fence line), which means that with taller buildings you end up with a lot of space behind them. If you want to find out more about permitted development rights see our planning guide.

    10 YEAR TIMBER GUARANTEE?

Other companies claim that they offer a 10 year Guarantee on their untreated timber. Please take the time to read the small print, as you'll find that these Guarantees are pointless. Such guarantees cover the cabin against rot and insect infestation, and the conditions of the Guarantee state that you, the customer, need to treat the cabin every year with a good quality preservative. Well of course it won't have any rot or insect infestation if you treat it every year; that's the point of treatment. So why are these Companies offering a Guarantee for something that you are going to have to do?!? And if ever you were to try to claim on it would you need to submit a film of yourself treating the cabin each year? How could you prove you had treated it? We don't offer pointless Guarantees. The only Guarantees we offer are when we, the company, have done something to ensure that the product lasts. Like our 10 year guarantee on pressure treated timber, or our 10 year guarantee on galvanised metal for our thatched gazebo roofs. We hope you won't be mislead by other Companies 'Guarantees'.
  • Slow Grown Spruce
We use slow grown spruce for the walls of all our Garden Buildings as it is better all round than pine! Spruce is less porous than Pine and so less likely to shrink, warp or split. We only select slowly grown timber from colder climates which also helps keep the timber more stable as the rings are densely packed. It is also a less resinous timber than Pine, which makes the possibility of sap ruining your clothes or furnishings much less likely.

The use of multiple applications as short term holiday accommodation can offer a payback period that could be as little as 1 to 2 years depending upon occupancy.

The Rasa Glamping Pod is constructed using high quality, slow grown spruce. This strong and durable timber is all round better than pine. Spruce is less porous than Pine so is less likely to shrink, warp or split. The image above shows a brief reference to how your products will arrive. All of our garden buildings are made from kiln dried quality graded timber, if it is to be stored prior to construction and treatment all parts must be covered to prevent moisture from warping and rotting the timber.
