Average Seller Rating:

The Balcony Fort searcher was the only choice for my family. I have three boys 4 and under, so thought carefully about what kind of frame to get. The balcony feature is really what sold it to me as our field looks out towards a valley and you really get a sense that this is a defence post or watch tower incase of enemy attacks - I felt that the potential for such role play would be very much heightened by this aspect... and immediately my eldest once on the open balcony began interacting with the landscape by inventing a game of 'defend the tower', and soon the others joined in. At the time of writing this I have constructed the tower element and need to construct the monkey bars and side ladder but can already see how much of a benefit this frame will have on my childens physical and emotional development. At £600 I think this is a bargain. It's bigger than I thought and extremely well made. It has been a real labour of love. I perhaps underestimated the amount of time needed to put this up but as it takes shape and the build nears completion I feel a tremendous pride in building this for my children. I've managed most of this my self but had to have help in joining the 4 posts to the deck, moving it into place, the roof installation is easy enough but requires two and it really does help to have an extra eye to keep levels straight or even to pass the correct component to you. So you have to construct everything yourself apart from the roof and floors x 2. I'd have been happier if the ladder, lower side panels and balcony sides had been pre made but there is probably several reasons why they are not, it just requires a competent level of skill to make them. My installation was made more difficult as I have set it in a sloping field so had to make some calculations and dig a 17cm to 0cm foundatoion over 1000mmx1000mm to ensure a level field, but once done and all screwed in, it really is a solid structure. So to conclude, I would recommend this beautiful frame without hesitation but allow yourself plenty of time to plan and execute the installation. Go for it...

Great climbing frame - it took most of the day put together at a relaxed pace, a drill / power screwdriver are a must! My son loves it so far, especially the ship's wheel and telescope which we added as an extra!

We bought the fort plus escape climbing frame for our 4yr old daughter ready for spring. She absolutely adores it and will rush home from nursery to play on the swings and slide before the sun goes down. Although it's a lot of money for a play thing it's helped us all spend more time in the garden, our daughter will happily play whilst we chill out with friends. The build is relatively easy - I managed to do it and up under now my DIY skills extended no further than the odd wonky shelf - but it does take at least a full day. We added a few of the extras - steering wheel and telescope - which went down well. The construction is really solid and ultimately we're very very happy with the result.

Climbing Frame is great. Really sturdy and well made, and my six grandchildren aged from 8 downwards all love it, including the furniture which we have put in it. Difficult taking delivery of it, as the driver would not come up my long drive, which the lorry could easily have coped with, so four of us had to carry it a long way all in pieces. It took two professional handymen most of the day to put it together.

Very impressed with the whole process, delivery was on time and the delivery men were really helpful. The product itself is so strong and well made, it did take my husband approx 8 hours over three evenings after work to put it together and he's good at these things! Our boys have enjoyed it all year round, looking forward to the summer again now!

With a little planning and time spent reading through the instructions ( which were a photocopy and unclear) it is fairly straightforward. I was able to assemble it on my own except for the roof which I needed help to lift up. Looks good and grandchildren love it.

So happy with the company and product I received. Had a problem with trying to pay online but a quick phone call and it was all sorted by a very helpful member of staff. The product arrived on the day they said it would and when the driver was 5 miles away, he called to say he was close by. No need to wait in all day. The instructions were clear and precise and in all, it took 1 day to fit together and anchor in the ground. It brought a huge smile to my sons face.

Really please with this purchase (so was our little girl!). The construction of it took a little longer than stated but then again we weren't rushing to build it. It is made of good quality timber and is sturdy once built, definitely ensure you dig in and fix the ground spikes as the A frame will move if you have 2 children swinging together, once I'd dug them in the frame was going no where! Overall very pleased,

This climbing frame is amazing. The slide, climbing wall and swings are all well built and ideal for young children. The kids both love it and the materials are very good quality. Few things to note if you're going to assemble it yourself; It takes time to assemble, and definitely needs two people, so set aside a full weekend Make sure you have a good electric screw driver/drill. There's a number of holes that need to be drilled for small screws - all very easy but I'd hate to do it will elbow grease alone! It comes with 4 ground anchors and sturdy bolts. I set these into the ground with postcrete and they hold the whole structure securely but I would also suggest a couple of strategically placed fence posts set in concrete to support the frame (you'll need to buy some bolts/brackets to attach them) if you have older children - although the instructions say it should not have more than x number of kids on it at any one time, I've yet to find a way to make children obey the rules:-) The instructions are good, but we had a few things to puzzle through, perhaps because I don't read instructions very well but; The way in which the climbing wall grips are attached is not very obvious (drill holes and set the nuts up so that the spikey bits dig into the wood to leave a flush finish on the underside of the climbing wall). We used a mallet to bash them in sufficiently to allow the bolts to bite before tightening them up. Be sure to put the brackets for the swings on "before" you screw the rungs into place - rookie error but very annoying as we needed to unscrew all the rungs to put them on! The monkey bars have two different sized cross beams. Think through which way the whole structure is going to face and make sure you have these two cross beams the correct way around. With that said, if you can build a fitted wardrobe and you enjoy a bit of DIY then you can construct this and your kids will love it.

The finished product is great and my four year old daughter absolutely loves this. The customer service was fantastic when purchasing and the delivery men were very helpful. My only criticisms are that the roof is a little flimsy and there didn't seem to be enough footholds. Assembly wasn't particularly easy, although there were detailed instructions, it took a good day.
By - Jocelyn Cole on Jan 04,17

Extremely please with this purchase, delivery was excellent. Managed to build it on my own within 1 1/2 days. Kids Love it and i have recommended to Friends.

This was purchased for our 3yr old grandson for Christmas and he is delighted with it. He thoroughly enjoys playing on it so I hope it will be enjoyed for future grandchildren to come. We had a joiner friend put it together it took him half a day but he knew what he was doing. Thankyou for our brilliant purchase.
