1. Multipoint Locks and Concealed Hinges and Screws
We provide a 4-point locking system with our Log Cabin windows. Why? Because we value your belongings. With the espagnolettes and the solid handle (with a lock built-in), we can only wish good luck to anyone with sticky fingers that are trying to get through our locking system – not that it’ll do them any good! We have the confidence to say this because our locking system has been tested to BSEN 1303:2005 classification. So choose Dunster House and have the best lock on the block!
We also provide concealed hinges and screws with our doors and windows. These provide benefits such as an enhanced appearance because they remain neatly tucked away. They also provided better security as concealed hinges are less easily accessible which restricts the likelihood of them from being interfered with.
2. Double Glazing
Sadly we’re not talking about doughnuts but don’t leave when it’s just getting good – we include 28mm double glazing (NOT 14mm) on our double-glazed windows. As a UK-based company, we feel we can confidently say that with the British weather always throwing us curveballs, so good insulation is invaluable (and yes, we had to talk about the weather it’s our patriotic duty).
Setting aside the fact we have temperature preservation to make even Goldilocks jealous, we can’t fail to mention the noise insulation that comes with choosing double glazing over single glazing. No more will you have to hear the loudest of noises everything will be blissfully muted so you can finally enjoy the serenity of your garden.
3. 4mm Toughened Glass
Toughened glass (or tempered glass) is as its name would suggest stronger than substitute options. As you may imagine this comes with a whole array of benefits: harder to break, safer on the rare occasion it does break, and less prone to scratches – these are just some of the benefits you can expect with toughened glass.
All these features are the result of the manufacturing process that makes toughened glass – heat a sheet of glass to 600°C then rapidly cool it and you have glass that has gone through a whole lot and has the strength to prove it. While we’re talking about the manufacturing process we erase the edges of our glass so that when handling a pane of our glass you don’t cut your hands (having said that we would always recommend wearing glass gloves – better safe than sorry)
If you wish to see how our 4mm toughened glass performs we think Andy shows it best so watch him test our toughened glass against other alternatives in feats of strength.
4. Internally Beaded
Internal beading is incorporated to secure your windows. This is to maximise the security of your building. It means that windows can’t be removed from the outside of your property without smashing the window, but you can remove them from the inside should the need arise. Internal beading also possesses greater longevity than external beading because the beading is protected from the elements.
5. Designed for your Convenience
Are you tired of struggling to get things in and out of your garden building? Or is the prospect of mowing the grass task enough without having to add get the lawnmower out as a completely separate point on your to-do list? Or maybe you just want that dramatic entrance? Whatever the reason don’t make life unnecessarily hard for yourself – enjoy the double doors we have included in the design of our garden buildings. And don’t think the convenient opening abilities stop with our door, our windows are right there with them. So never again struggle to ventilate your garden building. Swing your doors and windows open wide and seize the day.
6. Preassembled Windows
The windows we provide are preconstructed because Lego is one thing but when you’ve got a million window-related thingamabobs and no idea where to start it becomes extraordinarily frustrating, so we’ve decided to spare you from that nonsense and just give you a window (instead of 2 panes of glass, a million screws, beading…).
The preconstructed windows will also help you save time and better judge timing. You do not have to waste your time constructing your windows. You can also make a more accurate estimate of how long it will take to build your garden building as a whole without having to stop your overall construction to make each individual window.
7. Adjustable Hinges and Friction Stays
As we’ve covered we have wide-opening windows so why would we then restrict you to only open your window to certain points? We wouldn’t and we haven’t. Dunster House have decided to use adjustable hinges and friction stays so you can get those perfect angles, whether it be just ajar or swung wide open.
We also made our windows top-hung so that your window opens out and up instead of opening to the side. Even though we’ve made our windows’ friction stays from 5-star stainless steel to minimise the likelihood of rust, no one wants to risk soggy floors so keep that temperamental British weather out and enjoy your cabin year-round.
8. uPVC Upgrade Available
We now have uPVC upgrades available on a wide range of our products. uPVC or unplasticised polyvinyl chloride is durable and resistant to environmental changes making it a brilliant insulator and when paired with our double glazing they make one heck of a team. It is also easily maintained, bar an occasional cleaning it is very happy to just be left, unlike some other materials like wood and metal that will require more attention and care. We also supply a choice of colours, either classic White which will most likely match well with the rest of your house, or Anthracite Grey which produces a more contemporary, modern aesthetic.
Bonus – Flyscreen
Stop those pesky bugs! Open up the customisation section when selecting your product and under optional extras select flyscreen. Even if you’ve added additional windows we’re right there with you and provide flyscreens for those too.
