Safety First

Safety is our first priority. We use the best quality timber and adhere to the highest manufacturing standards. All our garden play frames are rigorously and independently tested to EN71 safety standards. Unlike with other competitors, you can rest assured your children are safe while playing.

We also supply ground anchors with our play equipment at no additional cost, to help secure your play equipment safely in place while your children play. The ground anchors are made from galvanised metal and feature large discs that bury into the ground, unlike the small plastic pegs that some other companies use. Unless your ground is particularly soft, there’s no need to concrete the posts into the ground as they will firmly hold in place, so you have a stable and solid structure.

Maintain Your Kid’s Climbing Frame

Although all our children’s climbing frames are safety tested to meticulous European Standards, we recommend performing regular maintenance. This way you prolong the life of your garden equipment as well as the safety of your children. The key areas to focus on are ground anchors, preserving the timber and dealing with any cracked wood.

Ensure the ground anchors of your play equipment are securely fastened as they provide the base for a solid and stable structure. In cases where your climbing frame anchors become loose or get ripped out the ground, you may need to take further action. Such as, move the climbing frame to a different area of your garden or concrete the anchors into place to ensure they are securely fixed in the ground. The actions you may need to take depends on what the issue is.

The majority of our wooden outdoor climbing frames are pressure treated. We pressure treat using a non-toxic solution that is integrated into the wood. This solution helps prevent fungal decay and insect infestation for at least 10 years, which is something we can guarantee. We do recommend treating the timber with water repellent to prolong its longevity.

Any climbing frame playhouses with untreated wooden parts should be treated as soon as they are built with your preferred timber treatment and colour. You may need to annually re-apply treatment to help preserve the timber.

Depending on the position of your climbing frame within your garden, it may become dirty and need cleaning. For instance, if it’s placed under a tree which deposit sticky sap and shedding leaves you may need to use mild detergent and warm (not hot) water to clean the garden play equipment and Wendy houses. Cleaning it that way will cause the least amount of stress to the timber.

Don’t forget, your garden play equipment is made of timber, a natural product that will contract and expand according to the UK’s unpredictable weather. Splits and cracks may occur over time but that shouldn’t compromise the quality of your garden climbing frame.
