What are the features of a Summerhouse?

Add a touch of elegance to your garden with one of our stylish summerhouses. Our summerhouses promise a simple solution for garden owners to sit and enjoy the paradise they've created, whatever the weather.

Summary of Features

  • Floor included, unlike some competitors

  • High quality locks

  • Toughened glass

  • Multi-point window locking

  • All slow grown spruce timber

  • Pressure treated floor bearers

Bearers and T & G Floor Boards

Our summerhouses come with easy to fit 19mm tongue and groove timber floor boards on pressure treated floor bearers. We pressure treat our bearers to reduce the chances of rot and insect infestation, as these are constantly in touch with the ground. The pressure treatment allows us to provide a lengthy 10-year guarantee on the floor bearers. The rest of the summerhouse does not come pressure treated, this is so you can personalise your summerhouse using our wide selection of treatment.

Tongue and Groove Construction

We have made construction easier for you with our summerhouses. The 28mm and 45mm logs are precision cut and routed tongue and groove timber in our range of summerhouses. Each log simply interlocks into one another ensuring installation of the summerhouse is simple and efficient. Additions to the summerhouse, such as windows and doors all come pre-assembled meaning they only require slotting in. To ensure enough light seeps through the summerhouse all windows and doors use clear 4mm toughened glass.

Our summerhouses all fit beautifully into the corner or equally can sit in the heart of the garden, providing an enjoyable view from the main house or from the summerhouse!

Windows & French Doors

To add to the customisable design of the summerhouses, we provide sculpted Georgian bars for the windows and doors. It's up to you whether you use the bars to create a traditional looking summerhouse or leave them off to create a modern, streamlined feature within your garden. The bars are easy to remove for maintenance, or if you decide to change the look of your summerhouse.

To keep your summerhouse secure, the doors come with an industry leading 4-point locking system, a similar mechanism used on domestic doors. Additional to the door locks, all windows have a mushroom espagnolette which pulls the window tightly towards the frame. In order to avoid any intruders being able to force their way into your summerhouse, all windows are internally beaded.

Roof Features

Each of our summerhouses are under 2.5m in height, so it's less likely that you'll need planning permission. With a roof made using 19mm tongue and groove timber boards, a Dunster House summerhouse is robust enough to hold roof felt or roof shingles to finish off the summerhouse and create a weatherproof roof. The summerhouse has high internal eaves giving a spacious and airy feel inside.
