Man Caves 4 point locking system
    4 Point Door locking system
Our PremiumPlus doors feature our industry leading four point locking system. It features a hook, locking latch and two roller locks. We use a type of lock that has 6 pins and has been tested to BSEN 1303:2005 classification to ensure it is a safer, more secure locking system. Our Premiumplus windows have multipoint locking as well, using the same type of system as we supply with our uPVC windows and doors.
    timber outbuilding toughened glass
    wooden outbuilding styrene
    4mm toughened glass
We use 4mm toughened glass in our windows and doors for increased safety and security. It's much better than 3mm horticultural glass, commonly found in garden buildings, as it's a lot harder to break, and if ever it is broken it breaks into small pieces rather than large shards. It is also much harder to scratch than the plastic alternatives, styrene, acrylic and perspex, so will preserve your clear view out for far longer.
    timber outbuilding 24mm double glazing
    Optional 24mm Double Glazing
The double glazing option on PremiumPlus Log Cabins is an industry leading 24mm thick. We make these sealed units ourselves to European Standard EN1279. Made up of 4mm toughened glass, 16mm spacer and another piece of 4mm toughened glass. It's an excellent way of insulating your cabin and extending its usage from a seasonal building to one that can be used throughout the year.

    10 year timber guarantee?
Other companies claim that they offer a 10 year Guarantee on their untreated timber. If you read the small print, you'll find that these Guarantees are pointless. They cover the cabin against rot and insect infestation only if you, the customer, treat the cabin every year with a good quality preservative. Why are these Companies offering a Guarantee for something that you are going to have to do yourself? How could you prove you had treated it if you tried to make a claim? We don't offer pointless Guarantees. We guarantee that our pressure treated timber and our galvanised metal will last for 10 years without yearly labour from you.

    Customise your design
Our Log Cabins have been designed to fit any garden and accommodate any personal preferences. Where our pictures show the doors on either the left or the right hand side of the front elevation if you want the doors on the other side of the front elevation simply reverse the position of the front wall logs when you build it. You can choose between a traditional or modern style, depending on the type of roof you prefer, and with or without Georgian Bars, to suit your taste.

    Avoid sagging roofs
Our heavy duty 140mm or 210mm high by 45mm wide supporting roof beams prevent unsightly sagging.
    wooden garden building adjustable hinges
    timber garden building friction hinges
    Adjustable Hinges/Friction Stays
Our PremiumPlus doors feature easily adjustable hinges allowing you to make minor changes if ever required. The windows on this range have the same friction stays as we supply on our uPVC windows, meaning that you can open the window and leave it open with just the hinges taking the load, with no need for a stay arm. These sets of hinges are stylish and supremely user friendly.
Man caves with adjustable storm brace
Man cave with adjustable storm brace
    Adjustable storm braces
Our adjustable storm braces tie the log cabin roof to the rest of the building so it withstands stronger winds. Unlike other cabins on the market they are adjustable to allow for the natural movement of the cabin which helps prevent gaps appearing between wall logs as the logs settle and move.
    Wooden log cabin spruce walls
Wooden log cabins with spruce walls
    Slow Grown Spruce
We use slow grown spruce for the walls of all our log cabins as it is better all round than pine! Spruce is less porous than Pine and so less likely to shrink, warp or split. We only select slowly grown timber from colder climates which also helps keep the timber more stable as the rings are densely packed. It is also a less resinous timber than Pine, which makes the possibility of sap ruining your clothes or furnishings much less likely.
With our extra tall doors, unless you are over 1.86m (6'1") tall you can walk right the way through without any danger of bumping your head.
This building is under 2.5m high. Why does this matter? Under permitted development rights, buildings under 2.5m high can be placed as close as you want to a boundary (eg. a fence line) without planning permission. Buildings that are over 2.5m high need to be placed over 2m away from any boundary (eg. a fence line), which could lead to a lot of wasted space. If you want to find out more about permitted development rights see our planning guide
By pressure treating our floor bearers we protect the lowest part of the building from rot and insect infestation. This forces the treatment deep into the timber using a large pressure treatment tank. Due to this costly but effective process we can offer our customers a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation on the bearers with no need for the customer to re-treat this timber at any point during that time.

PremiumPlus Carsare Log Cabin W3.5m x D2.5m

The image above shows a brief reference to how your products will arrive. All of our garden buildings are made from kiln dried quality graded timber, if it is to be stored prior to construction and treatment all parts must be covered to prevent moisture from warping and rotting the timber.

Thanks to Kris and Dean for constructing our carsare. They could not have been more accommodating, and were incredibly hard working even in the scorching 27 deg heat of last week. From unloading, to final finishing they never stopped. I am sure it would have remained in packaging if we had attempted it ourselves. Very pleased with your product, and the upgrades available. Will send photos when it stops raining long enough for us to paint it. Many thanks Kris and Dean.

I have been looking for a suitable office and this building was perfect for my needs. It was straight forward to build with good instructions and good quality. From it being delivered to moving the office in it has been a good experience. Jonathan Hulland

In general we are very pleased with the PremiumPlus Carsare 3.5m x 2.5m and would recommend it to your future purchasers. The quality of the timber was very good, all necessary components were included, and all the parts fitted together easily without any need for adjustment. Your delivery men were very helpful, both in unloading the components piece by piece, and their advice. However, we found the instructions were somewhat confusing as they were a combination of Carsare and "generic" instructions, and the steps did not always follow in chronological order. This necessitated a thorough understanding of the whole procedure before the construction began. A video of the different steps would definitely have made life easier. The cabin, for an amateur like myself, took more than 1 day for 1 man to put together as advised (not a problem as we were in no hurry and had help). A small irritation was all the staples that had to be removed from the timbers - presumeably these were holding the plastic wrapping in place.

Dear Peter. Thank you for your review and suggestions. We already have a lot of videos on YouTube and our product pages that all of our customers find really helpful to assist them on the building process.

Cabin went together fairly easily. Some of the wood sizes differed from the specification, but it was not a problem to figure out The window frame for the opening glass is a bit flimsy, and the doors needed squaring up before they would fit the frame. One of the gable ends had a distinct curve that needed quite a lot of "persuasion" to close up. Overall, not bad for the price compared to similar pruducts

Very pleased with both the product and the service. Best price on the market for this standard. Received very prompt and helpful advice when required, and overall it was easy to construct - although I should say that I do have some carpentry skills. I have painted mine with black ash Cuprinol. See photos. Highly recommended.

Original intention was for hobby room but so delighted with finished unit decided to make it a garden "Relaxation Centre". Was particularly impressed with erection team, excellent co-ordination from laying base to final handover. Well done Dunster House.

This is a high quality product delivered by a quality company. Delivered on time at the time stated. Easy to assemble ( You know when you get easy to assemble structures and you only get just enough screws and fixing, Then you loose one, and have to hunt around for the right one, Well you will get plenty with Dunster.) . Very happy with the results.
By - Roger Stone on Nov 15,15

Given the amount of components involved (it took nearly an hour for 3 of us to offload it all), the whole thing is very well engineered and assembles really well. Promises of a 1-2 day build time are misleading. If you are looking for the fully insulated options, and allowing for painting, this is a 4 day minimum job. It took two of us pretty much a full week (dawn to dusk), with no shortage of expertise or tools, to get the cabin ready to use (although this did include internal wiring and lighting). The end is frustrating with lots of fiddly cutting of trims, and the instructions on the doors and windows could be clearer, but the assembly really wasn't difficult and is explained in logical steps. Used as an office, the fully insulated cabin is really dry and takes nothing at all to heat up and stay warm (the computer is enough to keep it up to temperature). Quality is exceptional; and when it's all assembled and painted, you're left with no doubt that it is really good value for money. Just don't under-estimate the build time.
By - Michael Barham on Oct 27,15 Dunster House reply:
Dear Michael. Thank you for your review. We are very glad that you are happy with your cabin. We do mention on our website an assembly time of approximately 1 -2 days, depending on weather conditions, DIY skills and several other issues, although this should not include internal wiring and lighting as it only refers to the building process.

What a fantastic product and service. The men who arrived with and fitted the cabin were friendly and efficient. The quality of the wood used is excellent and it was done within two days as there were no snags on our fitting site. We got the insulated walls so that we can use it all year round so it's like a cabin within a cabin - it's so cosy. I think the only improvement that could be made is that they could provide a 'skirting' board that could hide the grid and feet that the cabin sits on, even if just at the front, just to finish it off. Other than this, it's been great.

I decided to go for the fully 'blinged-up' version. Full Insulation. Thicker walls - the lot! Well worth it. I decided to have a go at putting it together myself and can conclude that it is possible for one person to construct most of it up to roof level without too much trouble. The insulated roofing panels are very heavy so two people are a must from the safety point of view. The quality of the wood and most components are excellent. I didn't have to reject any of the wood panels. My only gripe (there had to be one) is that the instructions are part 'generic' and part specific. I found myself cross referencing both to make sure I was doing the right thing. It got very frustrating at times and it's quite easy to make a mistake if you're not careful. Dunster folk, please make the manuals specific for the options you've chosen at the time of ordering. You may need to store hundreds of documents on your computer for the options, but it would make our lives a lot easier! Gripe over. On the whole, if you're half DIY savvy, I'd give it a go a save a lot of money on getting it built. It's good fun and Very satisfying to see it built. Highly recommended! (ps. Love the roofing shingles kit - definitely worth the extra effort).
By - Jurgen Dabeedin on May 28,15

When erecting the cabin make sure the ground is level and once you start assembling the construction make sure everything is square by measuring the diagonals. If you follow these instructions everything will fall into place The only thing that we found was we had difficultly in locking the doors This was remedied by high ring one of the doors with washes We are very pleased with the cabin

A Quality product. Make sure that you have a carpenter to assemble it as there are many parts and sometimes the assembly instructions do not flow in the correct sequence so you need to have a quality Carpenter to overcome any understanding issues . Cutting the u=internal apex sections to accommodate the 2nd purlin was the only very small issue we had, Keep it square and upright as you assemble - on a quality set up base and you cannot go wrong. Overall a brilliant thought out product would highly recommend for the price
