Meet our new post-less porch canopies. We have designed another sub-range for our Thunderdam porches to give you more flexibility and freedom. With the choice of both an apex and a pent option, you can get a porch that matches the aesthetic you wish to provide.
Features
Fully pressure-treated and a 10-year guarantee on pressure-treated timber
Enjoy the longevity and durability that come with a fully pressure-treated product. With this treatment method, the treatment is allowed to permeate fully through the timber instead of just on the surface (like with dip-treatment), which is what gives it protection against rot and insect infestation. We are so convinced about the defence this provides to your garden building that we’ve guaranteed our pressure-treated timber for 10 years.
Heavy Duty Structure and No Glued Together Offcuts
This is a heavy-duty structure made with 45mm x 140mm timber framing and a 19mm tongue-and-groove roof. This makes your porch sturdier and better at protecting you and your belongings (say goodbye to soggy parcels). Another way in which we ensure your porch is strong and looks amazing is that we don’t use glued-together offcuts, only full pieces of wood.
Slow-Grown Spruce, Not Cheap Pine
Embrace the beauty of nature and rustic charm with a timber porch made from slow-grown spruce (not cheap pine), which gives your home an instant upgrade in kerb appeal. You can achieve this with the comforting knowledge that slow-grown spruce comes with fewer natural defects than pine. Pine is a common wood used in the construction of other wooden products. These faults include:
- Knots
- Splits
- Twists
Designed with the DIYer in mind for quicker installation, and Fixings Included
Meet the porch that’s considerately designed for ease of installation so that you can get your porch up and functional, so start your build process whenever you decide. One of the benefits of having a DIY porch is that you can work to your own timescale. To make the process even more straightforward, the fixings you’ll need to construct your porch will be included*. This inclusion of fixings also helps save you the cost of buying them separately. The simple DIY design can mean you won’t have to hire a constructor, thus making this a more cost-efficient option.
*Brickwork, flashing and brackets/fixings required to attach the porch to your wall are not included. As different types of walls require different fixings, you will need to seek professional advice as to which fixings to use.
Benefits
Flexibility and Freedom
Flexibility to place your porch at whatever height is most convenient for you, and also affords you the unobstructed use of the front step. This freedom lets you bring your own stylistic choices to your house so that it transforms into your home from the first step.
Aesthetics and style
The 100% slow-grown spruce brings charm and style to your house. The option of roof type and protection can transform your house into a home as you bring your own personal touch. The roof configuration types include pent, which is characterised by a single slope, and apex, which has two slopes meeting in the middle. As a special extra style feature for the apex roof options, you will have access to an interchangeable crown. With the added kerb appeal that you get from a porch, you also get a boost in property value.
Reduced maintenance
Enjoy the reduced maintenance that comes with opting for a pressure treatment and post-less porch. The pressure treatment prevents the porch from being damaged by rot and insect infestation. As the porch is pressure-treated, you don’t have to treat it, saving you time. However, you can paint or treat your porch if you wish, whether that be for an extra layer of protection or aesthetic purposes. The highly durable Superfelt we supply is included at no extra cost and is designed to repel rain and is sturdy enough to resist tearing in strong winds, further protecting your entranceway. This means you require less effort to clear your front step. If you want to enhance this protection while also upgrading the appearance of your porch, consider selecting the shingle roof protection option.
