The Perfect Base
Every garden building starts with the foundations – likewise to make the perfect Sports Den you need the right setting. For us that can only mean one thing – The Terminator Pub Shed Log Cabin! To take it over the top we’d add insulation to make sure no weather gets in the way of game day.
We would also add a side store. It would be great for keeping extra chairs for unexpected guests. You can also store extra snacks there. This way, you won’t miss any of the game by rushing back to the house.
Insider Tip: If you need more space, check out our whole terminator cabin range. You can add a Log Bar by clicking Customisation, then Optional Extras, and finally Log Bar.
The Right Set-Up
In a match, every player, piece of equipment and audience member has their designated position – the right set-up to win! Why should it be any different at home?
Snack Bar
We’d set the bar up behind the seating area—no blocking the TV. We also want it a bit away from the wall opposite the TV. This way, you can get behind the bar for a real Sports Bar experience.
Of course, you should stock the bar and fridge with your favourite snacks and cold drinks. Dunster House bars are even compatible with kegs if you want to put something on tap (just saying!).
The TV
Avoid the sun with blinds to block the glare, you want to be stunned by your team’s sporting skills not by the sun in your eye! We’d also want to position it in a place visible to everyone and let everyone see it. Our ideal TV would have good motion handling, image quality, sound quality and easily adjustable settings. We’d also consider a projector as it can make use of the space and can be moved to suit your needs.
Seating
Seat choice depends on whether you are united in your support or have two rival teams using the cabin. United support calls for a sofa. Meanwhile, rivals can only mean one thing – armchairs. This will allow you to decorate more easily and could very well increase your comfort.
If you opt for a bigger cabin you can have the best of both worlds which allows for a flexible seating arrangement – everyone can have the best seat in the house! That side store we mentioned is the perfect place to keep those spare guest beanbags!
Décor
The perfect sports cabin should be decorated in the colours of the best team (we’ll leave it up to you to decide who that is!). Bonus points if you can sneak their emblem in somewhere.
If you want to play in the big leagues of sports décor, we suggest having a bobblehead of your favourite player, a poster is a must, and any memorabilia from previous games is always welcome.
Oh, the Power!
Keep the cold ones cold, the cheers loud, and the colour vibrant – the TV, the Fridge, the Sound System, they all need POWER! Fortunately, there are ways to get the electricity you need. The most popular options are solar power and using mains power from your house.
Game On!
Half-time can really drag on, but we’ve found a way to make the time go faster… get involved! Whatever sport has got you on the edge of your seat, there’s a game to go with it:
- Table Football
- Table Tennis
- Air Hockey
- Pool and Darts
- Putting Green
Just to name a few!
