Expanding a small business can be a struggle at the best of times. Coupled with busy family life, and the high costs of renting rooms in other salons, beauty therapist Rachel was at a loss as to how her business could possibly grow with such high outgoings. It was husband Ryan that suggested bringing a salon to their very own garden, in the shape of a Dunster House log cabin. Introducing The Bella Sophia Beauty Retreat!

It was fantastic to receive these gorgeous pictures from Rachel and Ryan. From the very start to the outstanding finished product, they documented their log cabin build all the way from the initial rough stages to the finished log cabin, and afterward, it’s open-for-business look.

Rachel opted for the largest cabin of our Lantera Grande range (W7.5m x D3.5m) giving her the valuable space and privacy required for an extra treatment room. (This cabin has now been discontinued but not to worry, we have a whole new collection of log cabins to suit your needs and budget!

The treatment used on the exterior of the cabin was Dunster House’s beautiful Mendip Mist. A stunning misty blue-grey colour which really softens the look of the outside of the cabin. Moreover, the treatment provides a water-resistant finish, perfect for a log cabin in our changeable British weather!

I’m sure you’d agree that the interior is finished to a beautiful standard, who wouldn’t want to get pampered there!

This is what Rachel said about her log cabin

‘‘I started my own beauty business in 2011 renting rooms in other salons but after having my daughter last year I decided I couldn’t afford rent anymore and needed something to work around family life. My husband suggested buying a log cabin and converting it into my very own beauty salon and it was the best thing I ever did. It’s a dream come true, I’m so busy and all my clients absolutely love it!’’

The wide opening French doors and large windows will let tons of light through. This gives Rachel the bright and airy space needed for her business.
