  • Safety as standard
Our entire range is independently tested to comply with European Safety Standard EN71 and are CE rated. It really is better to be safe than sorry!
    10 year timber guarantee
With the exception of some accessories (eg. Ring Trapeze), ALL of the timber in your Climbing Frame has been pressure treated to ensure it lasts. Please be aware most of our competitors dip treat or do not specify the type of treatment they use. If the product is dip treated and not pressure treated they will require you to dismantle the climbing frame and treat all of the parts each and every year which cause you the customer, a lot of hassle and unnecessary time wasted taking it apart and putting it back together again. We offer a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation with no need for you to re-treat the climbing frame, at any point during that 10 years. We’ve also tested our treated timber to EN71-3 to ensure that the chemicals are safe to use on children’s products – which seems obvious but other companies use solvents to treat similar products.
    Metal Ground Anchors
Unlike the pegs that some other companies use to secure their play systems, we sell galvanised metal ground anchors with large diameter metal discs. These ground anchors either come included with the product or can be bought separately. They will be buried in the ground and should provide a solid foundation for your play system. If you find that your compacted soil is not stable enough then the ground anchors can be concreted in with no damage to the material.
  • 10mm Rope on Swings
We don't use metal chain links which can rust and risk trapping little fingers and hair. Our accessories use 10mm thick rope, pre-assembled with welded plastic joints and are height adjustable.
    Comfortable Swings
Our seats are made from moulded thick plastic that doesn't sacrifice comfort or durability.
    High Quality Accessories - Optional
We don't offer cheap flimsy accessories, unlike some competitors. Our climbing frame accessories are all designed for strength and manufactured to a high quality standard.
    Professional Quality Climbing Stones
Moulded plastic climbing stones can crack - that's why we don't use them! We only use professional grade materials, as seen on proper climbing walls!
  • Rounded Safety Caps
Nuts and bolts are safely covered up with plastic caps for added protection against knocks, bumps and to prevent catching clothing.
    Extra Thick Slides
Our plastic slides are thicker and more durable than any other residential plastic slides on the market. You don't even need to build them! Ours are one single piece of plastic rather than a kit of separate parts.
    Clamp Style Swing Hooks
Our hooks are specially designed to wrap around the timber to help reinforce it. The other type of swing hook that some competitors use is a simple bolt which is drilled through the middle of the timber and can weaken the timber over time as the swing moves back and forth. Our clamp style swing hooks add strength and safety.
  • Strong braces
To ensure a really solid structure we use multiple braces for added strength. We also prefer to use bolts, rather than screws, at key stress points and even pre-drill these holes to help you get the positioning exactly right and save you time.
  • Free fixing pack
We include all of the screws, nails and fixings needed to put your Climbing Frame together, not everyone is that thoughtful! So there's no need to worry about the type of screws, or length of nails etc you might need to get started, it's all there in the pack!

FortPlus Escape Climbing Frame W4.2m x D3.7m

The image above shows a brief reference to how your products will arrive. All of our garden buildings are made from kiln dried quality graded timber, if it is to be stored prior to construction and treatment all parts must be covered to prevent moisture from warping and rotting the timber.

Average Seller Rating:

We are really happy with the FortPlus. The kids love it and the quality of the wood and other materials is excellent. The construction does take some time. I did most of it myself only involving the missus when 2 people were essential. It took me about 13 hours over a couple of days. I also found myself making mistakes on a couple of areas where the instructions were not very clear so take care and consult the photos on the website if you're unsure as some of the 3D diagrams are a bit difficult to follow:-) The end result is very satisfying though. We also bought the baby swing, duoseat and the pirate kit. If you want to attach the pirate steering wheel in the top of the fort on the panels where the kids will probably enjoy it most you will need to find a thick piece of wood to take the bolt as the panels are too thin. Oh and make sure you have a spare batter for your drill screwdriver / electric screwdriver. If you're thinking of doing it with a manual screwdriver you need your bumps feeling :-) Good luck!

we recently purchased a climbing frame from you to say we are happy with it is a understatement our little boy loved it. The quality of the wood is amazing and was easy to build. We would recommend this to any one it saves us a trip to the park and it's all in our back garden it's all worth it to see the smile on our boys face.

We bought the fort plus escape climbing frame for our 4yr old daughter ready for spring. She absolutely adores it and will rush home from nursery to play on the swings and slide before the sun goes down. Although it's a lot of money for a play thing it's helped us all spend more time in the garden, our daughter will happily play whilst we chill out with friends. The build is relatively easy - I managed to do it and up under now my DIY skills extended no further than the odd wonky shelf - but it does take at least a full day. We added a few of the extras - steering wheel and telescope - which went down well. The construction is really solid and ultimately we're very very happy with the result.

Excellent quality, brilliant customer service. Highly recommended. The children love it and will have hours fun.

With a little planning and time spent reading through the instructions ( which were a photocopy and unclear) it is fairly straightforward. I was able to assemble it on my own except for the roof which I needed help to lift up. Looks good and grandchildren love it.

I am not a builder and me and my son took 6 hours to put together, very easy to complete, easy instructions and pre drilled holes. The fort is sturdy and looks really good, the grandchildren will love it when they see it Christmas day Excellent customer service when ordering and put my mind at ease when deciding on the right fort.. for that a big thank You a point I must raise. 1. Dunster house please pre assemble the side panels (like the roof) make it so much quicker All in all, great choice, not dissapointed 1 Dunster house, think about pre- assembling the panels for the sides like the roof, this will save so much more time 2. The delivery driver although did not ask direct, insinuate a tip for helping take the panels 50 feet from the road to the garden, this I refused and carried it myself, less agile persons will struggle, please make this clear in your advert. Funny thing if the chap had said nothing and helped I would have dropped him a fiver All in all definitely go back and order from Dunster house

Tools required does not mention a socket wrench which is needed for frame bolts, Plans and diagrams could be improved, ladder did not fit into any of the openings onto the platform and needed planing to fit. 35mm screws came in 2 sizes but not clear where to use the different ones. When fitting last panel to the base of the fort, panel exceeded width of the frame and again needed planing. Final frame does not match the picture as monkey bars needed to fit into the opening of the fort, but instructions resulted in monkey bars ending on the closed panel so had to adjust.

Hi Josephine. Thank you for your review and your suggestions. We will take them into consideration and have a look into our instructions and diagrams for our climbing frames.

We purchased Fortplus Escape for our growing number of grandsons for their amusement when they visit. It is well made with sufficient different activities to keep them occupied. The instructions are very good, including the dimensions of each component to avoid making mistakes. You have to drill a large number of holes so a good drill with a range of drill sizes, plus a good electric screw driver are in my view essential. I also used a set square. Highly recommended.

We first came across dunster house play equipment at my mom's house. My 4 boys loved it so we decided to get the boys one too (hopefully wear them out!). It took my husband the best part of a day on his own to assemble. The boys love it! We purchased a baby swing for the little one so he too can join in the fun. Highly recommend the company and the equipment. It's strong and sturdy and I can see that it will last a very long time! We are putting artificial grass underneath so they can play out without getting muddy!

Absolutely thrilled with the product. Outstanding quality, very well made. Frame is solid and robust once erected. Instructions were clear and precise. Took me 12 hours from start to finish. Relatively straightforward for anybody familiar with DIY. Customer service were great, slight delay with delivery, but only due to it being out of stock from being so popular. It's a huge hit with family and friends, needless to say we host all BBQ's now!

Really impressed with my little girls fort plus. She had a difficult year, but this has cheered her up no end. I even built a sand pit next to it to complement it and my girlfriend made some real tree curtains for it so as she and her friends have a proper den. And there even a little garage for her car. Thank you dunster house

Great bit of kit my daughter loves goong out on it worth every penny and easy to putogether me n a friend put it up quick time lol
By - B S on Sep 29,16

Comprehensive kit, clear instructions. It was easier to assemble corner posts, deck and top side walls with the tower on its side in a garage then move it to the grass as the site was sloping. Then roof and rest of components added when outside. Very pleased with final result - an excellent product!

Fortplus Escape looks great.....very sturdy....children love it!
By - Susan Williams on Sep 18,16

The product is a really sturdy and great when built, basically it's as described and good value for money. However it's a shame it comes in so many parts i.e. every plank of wood is separate!
By - Brian Quarendon on Sep 13,16

Really happy and the kids love the Fortplus Escape. Wood all seems very sturdy and good quality.Being treated gives peace of mind although a friend has this and theirs looks quite tired after a couple of years when compared to the factory fresh version. Might be a case of a cosmetic treatment to keep it looking really nice. The green plastic side is a bit cheap, would be better if that panel was a low wooden wall. Everything is very well thought out. Was a pleasure to put together. Be a good tip to have 2 cordless drills, one for screwing, one for drilling. Or otherwise to get a (3mm? I think) quick release drill bit for the pilot holes. Slide feels a bit flimsy, not sure if that will last as long as the wooden structure. Time will tell. Delivery service was very good. Able to track the delivery vehicle so easy to see if you could go out or needed to stay in.
By - Richard Simpson on Sep 13,16 Dunster House reply:
Dear Richard. Thank you for your review and suggestions. We are happy that you're satisfied with the product and that your kids love it so much. We are very careful when choosing all of the materials of our climbing frames and you don't have to worry as we provide a thick and durable plastic slide with our climbing frames.

Great piece of kit. My little boy really loves it, especially the swing as he is only little. We specifically bought from Dunster House because of the pressure treated timber and that it should last him 10 years. Fairly straight forward to put together, two of us managed it in 4-5 hours taking lots of breaks as it was the hottest day if the year! My advice would be to get your hands on a socket set to use as it will certainly save you some time.
By - Damion Lewis on Aug 23,16

Bought the Fortplus Escape for a very excited 3 year old. It definitely needs two competent adults to put together as some of the pieces are quite heavy and it requires some co-ordination but generally it is very well designed and easy to assemble (a good toolkit is a must). The finished product is fantastic and perfectly suited to children from 3 years onwards. We (and the excited 3 year old) are very pleased with it and look forward to the years of enjoyment it will provide.
By - Chris Appleby on Aug 22,16

The Fortplus Escape was bought as a birthday present for our three year old daughter. She absolutely loves the swing, especially as her friends can swing too at the same time, and, despite a little early cautiousness, the slide is great too! The climbing frame took a little longer than expected to put together but the quality of the wood and fittings is excellent.
