The image above shows a brief reference to how your products will arrive. All of our garden buildings are made from kiln dried quality graded timber, if it is to be stored prior to construction and treatment all parts must be covered to prevent moisture from warping and rotting the timber.

Average Seller Rating:

Overall a very good product. Excellent value and a very sturdy piece of kit. Our kids, 3 & 5 years old, absolutely love the set. Only thing preventing a 5 star rating was a few warped timbers - most significant was the main monkey bar beam. This made the otherwise straight forward task of contructing the monkey bars a lot more long winded, particularly as I was working alone for the majority of the time. The tip to use drawing pins to secure the roof material during construction was a great one and one I'd definitely recommend.

Thank you for review Richard, glad you would recommend our products! Timber as a natural product sometimes warps, we are afraid there is nothing we can do about that. Only way to avoid it would be to buy a metal climbing frame, but we don't think they look as nice. In 99% of cases, a warped piece of timber can still be used without an issue and we are glad you were able to overcome.

Amazing outdoor fun, my children have started referring to our garden as "The Park" Fantastic quality, look forward to watching my children having many years of fun. Highly recommend Squirrel fort to anyone with a young family!!!

My grandson loves this - just a shame water always collects at the bottom of the slide though!
By - Julie Hately on May 29,14

Excellent company to supply highly recommend. Product was excellent too, great quality and easy to follow instructions.
By - Lisa Warbrook on May 12,14

This is a quality piece of kit. Easy to follow and to put together even in the dark. I put it up Xmas eve for my children to find Xmas morning. They loved it and not been off since. Because of my uneven ground I brought 2 more anchers so it is soundly secure. Thanks for a good product.

Hey Graham, Thank you for the glowing review, we are pleased to hear that Santa had an easy time installing the climbing frame, I hope your children were pleased on Christmas morning!

A lovely climbing frame and good quality. Erecting is not hard but took a long time (2 men a whole day) and the roof is difficult to work out but was worth it.

Firstly, we visited your site at Faversham and was greeted by a charming young lady who answered our questions and took our order very efficiently. We found the product to be competitively priced, of good quality material and well machined. The clear instructions made the construction very easy, and the clear labelling of the components helped a lot. The Fort was purchased for our garden so that our granddaughters could use it when they are here, and after myself and my Son-in-law had completed the construction we asked my eldest granddaughter to try it out she said " Oh Granddad, it is beautiful" and I think that just about sums it all up !! We have no hesitation to recommend your company to others - Thank you !

Great product! Children so happy with it :o) In honesty it took 12 hours & 1.5 people to correctly install to the letter of the instructions though we did have to level the ground which took a good few hours. I used post-crete for the anchors, this is a sturdy product which deserves time and care to ensure you get the best which it WILL give. Do pre-drill the holes to avoid splitting the wood as advised and a handy tip I picked up was to use drawing pins when fitting the roof! They keep it all in place while fixing the screws. Really pleased with the fort, thank you very much! :o) Keeps the children well busy!!! Thanks again.

Bought the squirrel fort for our grandsons 3rd birthday he loves it. It was fairly easy to put together with 2 people n looks great in the garden. All our friends kids now ask to come to our house rather than go to the park they love it

Very good service. Took around 5 hours to construct but extremely sturdy, quality product. Some other reviews complain about instructions being difficult to follow, I would argue that on a product such as this, it would be difficult for them to be any other way. As long as you've got a tape measure, hammer, spanner, drill and screwdriver, you will succeed, Would highly recommend. You won't be disappointed. Kids are playing on it around the clock.

Good service Easy to build Good quality
By - David Evans on Sep 23,12

On the whole, we are very happy with it, and our daughter enjoys it very much. I do, however, have two points: 1) It would be good if there were two extra anchors to fit on the other two corners of the fort to secure it (as this can move when the swings are being used. 2) The swing seats aren't wide enough for adults, so they miss out on the fun :(
By - Lee Atkinson on Sep 11,12 Dunster House reply:
Hi Lee! Thanks for the review. We provide 4 ground anchors as standard, which is more than enough to meet the independent safety standard, EN71. Customers can always buy more if they feel they want to. We're afraid the climbing frame isn't designed for adults though!

I am very satisfied with my climbing frame and my grand children play very happily on it and enjoy it very much.
By - Anthony Morris on Sep 03,12

Overall a good quality product. Both our children aged 8 and 5 use the apparatus and have great fun. However, it took more time and effort to assemble than led to believe from the wesite. Measurements were given for holes to be made rather than already done.
By - Hayley Bestley on Aug 16,12 Dunster House reply:
Hi Hayley, thank you for your review. Larger bolt holes are normally pre-drilled but due to the changes wood undergoes with the change of moisture in the environment, there is no point pre-drilling some of the smaller holes as they would still need drilling again by the customer to prevent the wood splitting.

my 3 grandchildren plus their friends say it's fantastic
By - Helen fenwick on Aug 13,12

Excellent product and very sturdy. One small criticism was that we found the instructions confusing. We felt that it would have benefited from some form of labeling on the individual component parts.
By - Pauline Mundy on Aug 13,12

The quality of the wood and fittings was good. Assembly of most parts was easy even for one person. needed to check for squareness quite often. A power screwdriver almost essential. Roof a bit tricky - wraparound held with drawing pins before screwing into place. Overall well pleased with the finished product.

We r not very happy with the park the structure of the frame is not secure we are still waiting for one of our friends to help us add extra beams to make it secure as when our 6 yr old plays on it we have to watch and it not safe for 2 kids at one time it was a real shame because I really thought it looked very good value
By - Darren Manning on Jul 31,12 Dunster House reply:
Dear Darren; Thank you for your review. All Dunster House climbing frames are independantly tested to EN71 safety standard and so if properly assembled, they will be secure and safe for your children. As well as from our independent safety testing, you can also see from the reviews from other customers that if this climbing frame is assembled properly, it is safe and secure. If you do not feel that it is secure, refer back to your instructions and ensure you have followed them to the letter. Do not modify or add timbers to your climbing frame as this will modify it away from the safety tested design.

The children are thrilled with the frame. It looks just like the pictures and is everything we hoped for. (Is it possible to shorten the ropes on the monkey bars as they seem to hang very low?) The instructions for assembly were reasonable although we could make another one more quickly now with hindsight! We realised very quickly that a flat and level floor surface is essential and it is worth creating that before beginning assembly. It is very good value and we are all very pleased with the product. I will recommend you to others. Thank you
By - Barbara Craig on Jul 31,12 Dunster House reply:
Hi Barbara, ropes are adjustable, just pull them through the clip in the middle of the rope.

Extremely pleased with our squirrel Fort .Our grandson has had hours of fun and wants to get straight on it when he comes to visit.
By - Corrinne Nagler on Jul 31,12

Brilliant! Our children love it & we do too as they can play on it by themselves or all at the same time. It did take quite a bit longer to put together than was suggested & my husband is a fairly competant DIYer, but well worth it. Only thing that could make it better would be a double swing seat - if you start to sell one, let us know!
By - Sophy Booker on Jul 30,12 Dunster House reply:
Dear Sophie, glad that your children love the Squirrel Fort, with regards the double swing seat we do sell one, but unfortunately not for this height of swing beam. If anyone else reading this review is keen to get a double swing check out our other products such as the Fort Adventure that has a higher swing beam and can accommodate the double swing as an optional extra.

Fantastic piece of equipment. Very good quality. Very good serive. This squirrel fort has provided our family with lots of smiles and laughs and im sure there will be many more through out the years.
By - David Evans on Jul 30,12

Very speedy delivery and very happy with the quality. fairly easy to assemble.
By - Gary Russell on Jul 30,12

The finished product looks fantastic and is a real hit with the children. I would have given a 5 out 5 if the parts had been better labelled as it would have saved a lot of time from guessing which part is which!
By - Stephen Bayfield on Jul 30,12 Dunster House reply:
Dear Stephen, thank you for your review and we're happy to hear that your children are enjoying your Squirrel fort. Just for the clarity of other people reading this, there is a parts list with the instructions which gives a picture of each part so that you can find it and build it, what Stephen is no doubt suggesting is whether or not we could label each part with a sticker or similar. This is something we have experimented with in the past, but we couldn't find an adhesive that was effective and staples tended to split the labels apart and be a potential hazard if left in the assembled item. We've now concentrated our efforts on making the pictures and instructions as clear as possible, which hopefully means that not too much time is spent trying to identify things. We hope that your children have many happy years playing with your Squirrel Fort.
