Gym Log Cabin FAQs
What is a Garden Gym?
A Garden Gym is a timber garden building use for the purpose of a gym. Most garden buildings offered by Dunster House are suitable for this purpose. The main consideration customers need to make is the space they need to exercise effectively. Designed to provide a durable and insulated outdoor space for year-round use. Our marvellous range of log cabins are available in a variety of sizes and styles and the possibilities for their use are endless! Whether you need a garden office, a gym, a game room or just a quality outbuilding for your home, you canât go wrong with a log cabin!
How do I build a Garden Gym?
At Dunster House, our log cabins are easily assembled through DIY and when your product arrives, you will find our comprehensive build instructions included! We have a helpful guide here for how to prepare for your installation
When building a garden gym, you may want to consider a few factors. The proximity of gym equipment to windows along with suitable protection for the flooring. Our cabins aren’t designed for Olympic Power Lifters, but for the average gym-goer, you may want to consider suitable rubber matting to protect the timber floor. You will also need to consider the weight of your gym equipment which will need to be suitable for the timber floor.
Do Garden Gym’s need planning permission?
Garden gym or not, the same planning rules apply. The majority of our log cabins are specially designed to avoid needing planning permission by being under 2.5 M tall, but if you need reassurance or have a specific concern, we have an article covering if you might need planning permission for a log cabin.
