the first delivery man arrived with the summerhouse kit realised it was all a bit too difficult to offload it so refused to do so and drove off with the entire kit. he was rude and completely unhelpful. the second delivery man was better but mean out build schedule was delayed several days. this instructions were poor. the screw lengths were wrong and i had to replace with my own supply - dunster did not replace when asked. the reverse panel inside the glass window and door cannot be painted as it is sealed by the glass the predrilled holes for the window and door latches are not aligned communication with your sales team is impossible - the email system you operate is frustrating, slow and creates unnecessary delay dunster service and build quality is a long way behind the competition - in fact pretty hopeless i cannot recommend you to anyone i like the single star rating reflects the fact that we do have a summerhouse that is little more than a shed

Delighted with the Vantage 250 - and your speed of response to a damaged component. It was all very easy to put up once I had done the proofing and painting. I made some modifications which may be of interest. (1) I used a long bolt through the centre of the roof to secure the finial - this clamps things down without making holes in the shingles. (2) I insulated floor, roof and sides with 40mm polyurethane and then added internal cladding - this keeps it wonderfully warm. (3) I used flash-band around the base and the concrete plinth to prevent any water penetration. (4) Though the Georgian bars are excellent, the view is so good without them (delighted the windows are real toughened glass!)I'm afraid we're going to use them for something else. Meanwhile I have recommended your list to a friend -outstanding value for money (which means it's still cheap if you want to put in the extras I've mentioned).

Well you asked for my opinion so here goes! I have no gripe regarding the delivery and the customer service of staff who work here my problem is all about the quality of the product. My husband spent weeks filling holes and splits and rubbing down the extremely rough surface of the wood. The attention to detail and workmanship was appalling. The glass is not safety glass so beware if you have children. We had to spend over £100.00 on safety film to make it safe for my child. The summer house looks ok now it has received some considerable attention but my husband could have made one form scratch much cheaper, a lot quicker and to a much higher quality.

Just want to congratulate Dunster House and their team on the exceptional quality and service we received. We are highly delighted with our summerhouse which has completely transformed our garden. Mr and Mrs Pike

Very high quality and easy to put together. We looked all over before choosing this one. My wife is very pleased with the look and finish now all we need is a sunny summer.

Purchased in April 2009 & assembled myself. Pleased with final result. A few areas that could have been improved. 1. Approx 600 screws/nails of different sizes delivered in ONE bag! The 6 different sizes were correct in number but obviously would have been better delivered in 6 separate bags! 2. No specific instructions given for laying shingles on the hexagonal roof design. Instructions given/ supplied were for a conventional roof with one ridge. Specific instructions were expected and requested but didn't exist. This was a major disconnect for self assembly.Trust you've already improved your product?

1.Mode of delivery: The despatch in a single flat pack is inconvenient for DIY customers. The use of several smaller packs would ease the unloading - particularly when this happens in a snowstorm as ours was! 2. Whilst not wishing to appear as a 'little Englander' it would be far preferable if the documentation were to be written by a native English speaker - the phraseology is cumbersome to say the least. 3. As a matter of joinery principle the technique of inserting screws into end grain is not recommended- there are better ways or making joints. 5. Several points of poor detail design are evident: for instance, the small triangular roof panels are delivered with the main stiffeners carried almost to the top apex. This prevents them fitting snugly up into the frame and it was necessary to saw off the offending pieces. There were also one or two other details which I must admit I have forgotten! 6. Regarding the wood treatment, I suggest that you recommend this to be done before erection rather than after as this clearly allows more comprehensive trteatment

Roof didn't fit so we had to add extra batons to put it together. Ran out of roof shingles too and had to source more locally to finish the job. Ball top finial is purely decorative and you have to screw it into the roof through the metal to fit it when you would have thought it screwed through the roof and was secured inside. Customer service was non-existent and wanted nothing to do with it. Erection took three of us about two days so make sure you've got a posse of handymen to help. Shame really as we really like it now it's finally up. Chances of this review being published. Slim.
