Just completed the build of the Balcony Fortress and I have to say it looks awesome. It took me and my Dad just over a day and a half to complete and other than a couple of less than clear steps in the instructions it was mainly straightforward. All items were delivered in good order and all the screws, bolts and sundries arrived in a storage box which I thought was a good idea. We received a couple of wooden parts which were warped and as to be expected with a natural product but when fitted the effect was minimised. The finished effect is really striking and it looks better in real life than in the pictures. The climbing frame feels solid, the balcony adds some 'first floor' space and the swings are quiet (which is a nice change from our old ones). We were torn between the Balcony Fortress and and Manor Fort Stronghold but the balcony, the wooden roof and the additional monkey bars sold it for us and we all agree this was the correct choice. Thanks Dunster House for a pleasant buying experience and providing our kids with hours of fun.

Took a lot longer to erect then I expected. Would have thought that the plain sides could have been manufactured in one piece, this would have eased construction. The tiled roof looks great but was time consuming to put on. Now it’s finished and painted it looks fantastic. Very pleased with it.

Just completed building the Coronet cabin. Really pleased with the quality and feel of the product. Only difficult bit was the door frame assembly and screwing it into place (needed two people). Also purchased ex-display greenhouse / shed combi at the same time. Would not hesitate to recommend Dunster House for any product. Customer service also excellent when support needed. Thank you!

I was a bit worried by the negative reviews on sites regarding DH but given the number of buildings/gazebos etc they supply I decided it had to be a small minority and so ordered an Atlas Open Gazebo. I have to say it is magnificent! The delivery was as planned, at the right time etc and the delivery guys worked hard and were very courteous. The quality of the wood is great and the assembly instructions are clear enough for a competent DIY'er. It says it's a full day for 2 people... I did it on my own but with my wife helping to lift, carry, pass etc and spot the ladder, and it took about 20 hours, made much harder by only having ladder access to 3 sides. There is one point where you have to lift the centre bracket with 4 purlins attached onto the frame, I would suggest 3 people at that point, we managed with 2 but only just. Soooo glad we didn't buy a solid oak one, that would have weighed a tonne! It looks amazing, so pleased. Thank you!

I was impressed with the way everything went together.Me and wife managed to get the frame up and then I took my time as the weather allowed to finish off.As Dunster say 2 blokes are recommended as it is heavy.A pneumatic nail gun was very useful to nail the roof boards on.The roof shingles were not as difficult to fit as I thought and they're well worth the extra as they're superior quality and finish the roof off fine.I sat the 4 legs on thick rubber pads to help stop rising damp.Overall I'm very pleased with the gazebo-it is of very good quality, very strong, will not blow over and should last for years.A real enhancement to my patio.

Poor delivery service First of all, I must emphasise that the quality of the product is absolutely excellent - just what we wanted and looks lovely in the garden. I'm afraid I have some issues with the delivery experience. Like most people, I'm not a fan of the all-day delivery slot, even for cheap items, and I think those paying thousands of pounds for a log cabin deserve better. Yes, Dunster do make it clear that 'time is not of the essence' and they do offer updates on your delivery van's location. However, we received a text alerting us that the van was less than five miles away, only for it to turn up more than three hours later. In our case, we had someone coming to assemble the log cabin but were unable to tell them when to come, meaning that we had to have somewhere to store huge amounts of timber safely overnight in wet weather. The Dunster site says the timber comes 'wrapped in protective packaging' - it does not. It is simply covered with a plastic sheet while on the truck; when this sheet is removed you are left with hundreds of loose pieces of timber of varying sizes. They do not even bind similar-sized pieces together. When I asked the delivery guy not to tear the plastic sheet as I would be needing it, he sneered 'Oh, my God'. More importantly, if you happen to live in a terraced house, Duster only offer kerbside handover. I invite you to imagine hundreds of expensive pieces of timber on the pavement outside your house. People would not be able to walk past, there would be a significant risk of damage and theft. Our delivery guys did agree to drop the wood an extra few yards in front of our house; Dunster advise that you will need a person to help unload the timber but it took four of us well over an hour to get it through the house. Finally, Dunster makes it the customer's responsibility to check 'all of the correct items' have arrived. This is in no way possible when items need to be dealt with at the kerbside. Again, when thousands of pounds have changed hands, I would suggest it is the company's responsibility to check that they deliver exactly what they have been paid for! Once again, I would certainly give five stars for the quality of the product but Dunster need to do a lot of work to make the delivery service customer friendly.
