Great kit - but check the instructions!
The actual build of our Terminator Log Cabin was the four-star part. The logs slotted in with ease (in most cases) - the instructions do tell you to put warped logs in first. Heres the first problem: you dont know you have a warped log until you realise it doesnt slot in easily. Luckily we didnt have many of these and we definitely didnt bother disassembling what wed already built. There are extra logs, too so, if youre lucky, you can swap your warped one out. This is what we did. The roof takes ages. The instructions for this are fine until you get to the end purlins and find the instructions dont tell you to take them apart in order to fit them snuggly. And then theres the added frustration of finding some instructions for roof assembly on a totally different page (four pages on, to be precise). Also, our instructions were for an apex roof and not the pitched roof the Terminator has. We found out our roof trim didnt come in logical lengths, so we needed to cut it to fit. We imagine this may have been a packing error. We also had to cut the roof insulation boards as they arrived in fairly bizarre sizes, given the fact the area of the roof shouldnt come as a surprise. Finally, the timber arrives in single logs. It took a lifetime to unload the lorry. Maybe pack the timber in 10s (or even in 4s, like they do in Wickes)?
