    Summerhouses Heavy Duty Frames
    Heavy duty frames
The chunky 60mm or 86mm thick corner posts coupled with the 45mm thick framework either side makes our summerhouses very solid. The 16mm thick cladding adds to this rigidity and gives a substantial look and feel.
    Summerhouses 4mm Toughened Glass
    Summerhouses Styrene
    4mm Toughened Glass
We use 4mm toughened glass in our windows and doors for increased safety and security. It's much better than 3mm horticultural glass, commonly found in garden buildings, as it's a lot harder to break, and if ever it is broken it breaks into small pieces rather than large shards. It is also much harder to scratch than the plastic alternatives, styrene, acrylic and perspex, so will preserve your clear view out for far longer.
    Summerhouses Strong Cylinder Lock
    Summerhouses Strong Cylinder Lock II
    Strong cylinder lock
A strong cylinder lock will help keep your summerhouse secure. It'll keep your belongings safe from unwanted visitors, and it'll stop the kids from messing up your relaxation space.
    Summerhouses No Glued Together Offcuts
Summerhouses No Glued Together Offcuts II
    No glued together offcuts
We only use full lengths of timber in our buildings - we don't glue separate pieces together with finger joints. Not only are they stronger, but they look much better too.
    Summerhouses Georgian Bars
    Summerhouses Georgian Bars II
    Georgian Bars
Our windows and doors come with optional sculpted Georgian bars that sit firmly against the glass, rather than float in front of them. When applied to the windows and doors they add a traditional, elegant charm to your cabin. The Georgian bars are easily removed for maintenance, or if you decide you prefer the look of the building without them.
    Summerhouses Avoid Planning Permission
    Summerhouses Avoid Planning Permission II
    Avoid Planning permission
This building is under 2.5m high.
Why does this matter? Well, under permitted development rights buildings under 2.5m high can be placed as close as you want to a boundary (eg. a fence line) without planning permission. Buildings that are over 2.5m high, however, need to be placed over 2m away from any boundary
(eg. a fence line), which means that with taller buildings you end up with a lot of space behind them. If you want to find out more about permitted development rights see our planning guide
    Summerhouses 10 Year Timber Guarantee
Summerhouses 10 Year Timber Guarantee II
    10 year guarantee
The bearers of your garden building are pressure treated to help protect your garden building from the ground up. We provide a 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation for all pressure treated timbers.
    Summerhouses Fixings Included
    Summerhouses Fixings Included II
    Fixing pack Included
We include all of the screws, nails and fixings needed to put your garden building together, not everyone is that thoughtful! So there's no need to worry about the type of screws, or length of nails etc you might need to get started, it's all there in the pack!
    Summerhouses Avoid Sagging Roof
    Summerhouses Avoid Sagging Roof II
    Avoid sagging roof
Our summerhouses have robust 70mm x 35mm roof beams, which are reinforced by additional supports at the sides of each roof panel. With the metal spider brackets this gives a very strong roof structure to make sure that roof sagging is an issue that will only be suffered by the customers of companies that supply lesser products.
Summerhouses Easy To Build Panel System
Summerhouses Easy To Build Panel System II
    Easy to build panel system
The 16mm shiplap walls come in panels, so each piece of timber is cut to size. These panels are easy to slot in-between the solid 60mm or 86mm corner posts, making the construction of your summerhouse quick and simple, almost like a giant jigsaw puzzle.
    Summerhouses Pressure Treated Floor Bearers
Summerhouses Pressure Treated Floor Bearers II
    Pressure treated floor bearers
By pressure treating our floor bearers we protect the lowest part of the building from rot and insect infestation. This forces the treatment deep into the timber using a large pressure treatment tank. Due to this costly but effective process we can offer our customers a genuine 10 year guarantee against rot and insect infestation on the bearers with no need for the customer to re-treat this timber at any point during that time.
    Summerhouses Slow Grown Spruce
    Summerhouses Slow Grown Spruce
    Slow Grown Spruce
Slow grown Spruce is used to make our summerhouse walls. This is because Spruce produces less sap than Pine and other redwoods, reducing any stains and damage to the furniture you place in your summerhouse.

Great summerhouse! Although I didn't put it together myself I am told it was relatively easy. I chose to put a cedar shingle roof on to add character. Delivery was aexcellent and on time. When I emailed the office about a query I got a prompt response. Overal very happy with my new she-shed! Have had several people ask where I purchased it from and quite a few friends have popped in for a cuppa or a gin tonic!

Delivered on time by 2 helpful guys. Two of us managed to erect it within 3 days. The Instruction Manual was excellent and no problems arose. This is a high quality Summerhouse and I can highly recommend it. Well worth having the shingles roof as it improves the look dramatically.

Excellent service from the delivery guys. Arrived as predicted Saturday morning, off loaded with ease and stacked neatly and orderly fashion. All components fitted and description easy to follow. Great value for money and we are enjoying the last few days of summer in it.

Very pleased with our summerhouse. Fairly easy to erect. We managed to do it in two full days including fitting the shingles on the roof and then a few extra hours to paint. We have lined the interior, put in click type flooring and connected it to the power supply. And now enjoying sitting with a glass of wine with the garden surrounding our new summer house.

Simply thrilled Went together so easily, rain was our only problem! So easy to paint, all the village want one.

I was very pleased with the summer house I bought from Dunster House. It was exactly as advertised when delivered and having been erected really is what I wanted

I was a little apprehensive about ordering my summerhouse online especially when you read such mixed reviews about online service. However Dunster House had the exact summerhouse I was looking for so I decided to take a gamble and placed the order. There was nothing to worry about. The summerhouse is lovely and I am very pleased with it. Delivery was fine and the drivers were very courteous and arrived on time. My husband and father-in-law put the summerhouse together over a weekend with no problems. We upgraded the roof felt and I think this finishes off the look very nicely especially now I have painted the outside walls with the protector/stain. All in all a very happy customer!! Thanks Dunster House.

After reading all the reviews, both good and bad, I can only assume that those people who wrote a bad review were not dealing with the same people that I did. Everyone from the first contact to the finished summerhouse was extremely helpfull, polite and knowledgeable about their product. I was told four weeks aprox for delivery, it came in five days, the delivery guys were very good and helpfull. It has taken me a while to put up the summerhouse as my base was not ready, but the product, the people and service is something Dunsterhouse can be rightfully proud. Their prices were extremely competitive, but the product was far better than others we had seen for a lot more money. I would say that sealing around the base is a must, I added a skirting around the base and sealed that too, there were other minor tweeks but overall a truly great product and Dunsterhouse can be proud of both its staff and its product. I don't ever write reviews as they generally are not worth the reaaing of, but in this case I felt I had to, good luck to you all at Dunsterhouse and long may you prosper.

Very happy with our Summerhouse, installed by Dunster House team, very fast friendly guys. Window bar kits need explaining as the windows and doors are very slightly different widths so it is easy to get them mixed up as I did, but other than that, it is very nice.

The Summerhouse was delivered on time by two very helpful guys , who explained which parts were which. The instructions were excellent and very easy to follow and the whole construction process went without a single glitch. My wife and I were able to build the summerhouse in one day, with the exception of the felt roof, which we are having professionally felted rather than relying on the nails provided. All in all , we were delighted with the service and the product .
By - Jon Varney on Sep 01,15 Dunster House reply:
Hi Jon. thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you are happy with the product. This product is supplied with clout nails, exactly the same as you would get from a DIY store, but if you wish to replace them or get a professional, then we must say that it is entirely up to the customer's personal choice.

We love our summerhouse. It's perfect and has fitted into our garden beautifully. Friends admire its sound construction and handsome appearance and we are suitably smug! It's a perfect addition as it's a light and sunny place for meals, for reading, writing, drawing or chatting. Perfect when dull days make it rather dark in our Victorian house. It's also become an unofficial space for my husband to eat cake with his friends while they put the world to rights. I can't imagine how we managed without our 'retreat'.
By - Caroline Beasley on Jul 29,15 Dunster House reply:
Hi Caroline. Thank you so much for your review and beautiful photos.

My wife is absolutely delighted by her new retreat from the household. There she feels she is in heaven; in her reading, the ever-changing views, and entertaining our first now seven month grandchild (in particular the feeding of pheasants just in front of the doors). From my perspective preparation of the base was broadly straightforward despite being on a slope, as was the erection of the superstructure. Inevitably some minor modifications were needed to enhance robustness and divert rainwater from spilling off the roof across the doorway. Performance over the coming winter will be closely watched.

We are very pleased with our summerhouse. beautifully engineered with all sections fitting perfectly. We had a slightly sloping site so levelling the founds took a bit of time so it took us a day and a half (12 hrs) to complete. 2 pairs of hands! We cannot praise enough your driver who was extremely helpful and cheerful, for arriving punctually and unloading.

Thank you for your review and for your beautiful photographs.

We love it in the sun,we love it in the shade,we love it in the rain and we love it in the dark.So it's eternally occupy-able.I'll not deny that the assembly was a challenge to an ageing lapsed handyman like me, but the old limbs have recovered thanks in no small measure to the convalescent qualities of our new garden facility. The summerhouse package from DunsterHouse arrived intact,on time, and contained all the components and assembly details I needed for a straightforward (if protracted) construction. It is a great new amenity and we are well pleased with it.

Thank you for your review and beautiful photo. We are truly pleased that you are happy and fully enjoying your new Summerhouse.

From the moment I ordered the summerhouse the delivery was really swift. The lady and young guy who delivered it were so wonderful and helpful, lifting it around to a safe place for storage. The summerhouse was erected by two landscape gardeners who said it was tricky to put together and with the roof shingles it took them two days. I'm absolutely thrilled with it, I've painted it and it looks wonderful. The black hexagonal shingle roof really sets the whole thing off. Wonderful purchase that will last I'm sure. Thanks Dunsterhouse

We love this summerhouse it is a really great addition to the garden and we can't wait till spring so we can put it into use properly. Would definitely recommend Dunster House fitters as well.

Thank you very much for your review. We are pleased you are so happy with your summerhouse and the job our installers did for you. Would you be able to send us any photos to

Smashing customer service. Two-man job and a bit time-consuming putting the summer house up, but pretty straightforward. The shingle roof - very time-consuming, but worth it for the fabulous effect. Really pleased we chose this summer house; it's a stunning addition to our garden.

Thank you for the review. It sounds like a real labour of love.

A quality product that had one problem. The base bearers were short by approximately 10mm. A mail to the office resulted in replacements the next day! Well done Dunster House. The subsequent assembly was fault free. We are very pleased with the end product.
By - Jack Williams on Sep 17,14 Dunster House reply:
Dear Mr. Williams, glad we could help and get it all sorted for you so quickly. Enjoy your summerhouse!

I'm really pleased with my 3m Vantage Summerhouse. The quality of finish is very good and it has enhanced our garden. At least we've had a good summer to make use of it this year.
By - john Gordon on Jul 27,14 Dunster House reply:
Thank you for your review John, glad you had your summerhouse to enjoy our summer.

We are very pleased with the quality and "value for money" of the Vantage 300 summer house. We elected to self-build and found the instructions easy to follow, however one should stress it needs two people to erect including finishing the top of the shingle roof. Unlike "IKEA products" none of the components are pre-drilled so correct levelling etc. is essential. We are really pleased with the finished summer house and would recommend Dunster House to others.
