Thought about a summer house for a long time and took the plunge last year. Had it built by a joiner and it took him a while. Once it was built I did notice that water penetrated througn the small gaps in the joins so I filled them with sealant which seems to have done the trick. Laid a floor and decorated it so now looking forward to using it in the summer. It was a long haul but worth it in the end.

Whole process was great. Extra items arrived with main order & delivery was smooth. The quality of all parts really substantial. Construction was mainly straightforward however better instructions would be helpful., ie parts diagrams to identify wood laths & different bolts ! My contractors were in too much of a hurry to make use of good spell of weather so had to re-do some parts. Absolutely made up with results & have already recommended Dunster House to friends.

We ordered the covered square gazebo. Pack was easy to follow, took 2 days to put up and it looks amazing. We had compliments all summer. Can’t wait to start using it again when the weather gets better. Great value, easy to build and looks much more expensive than it was - bargain !

When I was researching log cabins on the internet there were several companies to choose from, the prices were not miles apart but Dunster House were the cheapest. They were also running a 15% black Friday discount at the time which made them cheaper still. Being honest I had reservations reading the reviews and forums on Dunster House about the quality of product and after service care. The only reason I decided to go ahead was that a friend of mine had purchased a log cabin from another provider and explained to me that pretty much anything could be fixed or 'persuaded' into place. So I took the plunge and hoped for the best fully prepared to have to fight to fix issues if I had to. I couldn't have been more wrong, Dunster were fantastic from start to finish. The pre sales support was really informative and gave me all the information I needed, I never felt pressure sold into anything and found them very friendly and relaxed. I didn't pay for a 2 man delivery as I was happy to move all the parts from the curb. However on arrival 2 lads were on the van as someone on the 4 job delivery schedule had obviously paid for a 2 man lift and the lads will have been keen to get back to base so they both unloaded the wagon. All 3 of us then carried the parts from the curb to my garage (which granted was only about 1o yards away) but even so they didn't have to do that. When it came to putting the cabin together it was straightforward. My only minor criticism is that the instructions are not as clear as they could be. In part this is because one set of instructions seems to cover several different variations of cabin depending on what extras you buy which does get a bit confusing at times. But using the mantra of read twice and fix once we got the cabin built without any dramas. Myself and a friend built the whole thing in 2 days (Winter days at that so working 10-4) and I would say from a DIY perspective we are pretty handy but not professional! Minor issues like slightly bent logs slide into place with a bit of persuasion (we made a little jig that sat over the end so that we could twist where needed - I'm happy to sell Dunster the design of this for a small fee!). The door was slightly out of alignment but nothing an extra washer on the hinge didn't fix. Top tip - the windows come locked without the handles on, so when trying to open add the handle and unlock rather than force open like we did and have to fix! I went for the 5m x 3m Severn cabin. I also went for the insulated roof and floor which has made it much more thermally efficient along with the double glazing. I added the shingles as you can see our roof from the house and it looks really smart with shingles. I didn't add anything else but had pre constructed a concrete ring beam on which I built a wooded matrix out of pressure treated logs for the cabin to sit on. All in all it went up better than I ever imagined and would highly recommend using Dunster.

Huma .
We r not very good with tools (ONLY PREVIOUS building experience in the past had been with flatpack ikea furniture )took us a day and half to assemble ,most of it was spent trying to figure out what goes where, some holes are predrilled but most aren't. It's NOT like ikea .but it did get done ,you eventually do figure out how to put it together . Assembly required two people myself and husband and a good drill .and a happy child in the end made it all worth it.recommended age under 7 .it's strong sturdy can tolerate weight of maybe even even an adult (I tried the swing) age 7 and above however would not enjoy the slide and climbing wall it's too small for them .swing and monkey bar remain fun and challenging as u can adjust the height of the swing and monkey bars are high enough
