Our cabins feature strong interlocking tongue and groove walls, as well as sturdy tongue and groove roof and floor. The windows are fitted with toughened glass, and have secure multi-point locking systems.

We use high quality spruce timber to construct all our log cabins, rather than cheaper pine or mixed timbers. Mixing timbers gives a less aesthetically pleasing appearance, as the cabin walls will be a combination of colours.

Our slow grown spruce is more durable and stable than cheaper alternatives. It is more resilient to warps and splits, and there are less knots and production of sap. The stability of the spruce timber minimises the number of gaps that will appear throughout the seasons as the logs move and settle. Our quality timber comes from sustainable sources.

Whether you need planning permission for large garden log cabins depends on various factors, including your location and the size of the cabin.

In the UK, there are permitted development rights that allow homeowners to build certain structures, such as garden buildings, without the need for planning permission. These rights are subject to specific size limitations and other conditions.

The size and height of the log cabin can be an important factor in whether planning permission is required. The distance from any property boundaries needs considering too. Luckily, most of our log cabins, including the large ones, are under 2.5m high, and are small enough to typically not need planning permission. Other exceptions may still apply.
